Finger Pointing (February 7)

Hello, I hope you are having a lovely weekend! Here are my picks from the galleries today, I hope you enjoy them!

carollee's 1961

Such a great collection of facts and information and a lovely gift idea for a loved one. Although I am still trying to get my head round the average house price in the UK being £2,770... wow.

divv's rockstar

Check out the attiutde here. The lighting is so cool, the shadows and the spotlight effect from the vignetted background are spot on.

jassie's love birds

I love pages like this with lots and lots of stuff to look out. The composition here is great, jassie left enough space round everything for it all to breathe and the photos are well positioned so your eye jumps from one to the other and back again. Fabulous shadowing again here - espeically on the row of beads and the flower at the bottom.

Leora's leap of faith

Sigh. I want to be here! Beautifully composed with all the space for the figure to jump into, the simple design is just perfect here.

Marussia's Young and In Love

This is so pretty, great colours and the repeated red patterned frames / borders tie the whole page together. Gorgeously romantic!

Mishou's Pink

I just realised quite how much pink there is in my choices this week! This layout a full-on tribute to pink - I love this page, I can totally relate to the journalling and the composition is great. Fun extraction and the little doodled heart is a perfect finishing touch.

pne123's love grows here

Another really beautifully constructed page, I love how the effects on the photos tie them in with the colours of the cards. The black dymo style words add some great contrast to the layout too.

sorashell's family

This is such a great collagey page, the blending is really good and I really like the eclectic mix of inks, paints, stamps and papers. Gorgeous.

stampin_rachel's imagine

There's something about this page that just made me stop and stare when I found it in the gallery. The colours are beautifully handled, it made me go and listen to this song again too!

Finger Pointing (Feb 5)

Hello and Happy Friday. Here are my picks for today.

A Moment by joannknnrd

This layout is so amazing. I love the whimiscal, collage style. I am in awe of it.

Angie by salamandre

This is so beautiful. Great brushwork and the pop of red is just perfection.

Cupid Did Me Wrong by coco

Who says that all pages have to have photos? The journaling on this page says more than a photo ever could. I love the title too.

Feel The Love by Tarty00

This is soooo fantastic. I am in love with it. Could a layout possibly be any more charming? Gorgeous lighting too.

On Air by Emi

This layout jumped out at me. I love the energy and how she created this wicked cool cluster. Awesome!

Greymouse Winter Ball by OlgaUnger

What a photo to use for this scene! I am completely smittened.

Daddy I Love You by Jenny79

This is the sweetest photo. I love this pretty little cluster with the journaling tucked underneath.

Finger Pointing (February 3)

Oops...I lost all track of time today because I got engrossed in a book.  Finished it in 24 hours.  I love it and hate it when that happens! LOL!

tracyblessedwith2's Baby Legs  This is one stunning layout.  The photo is fabulous, the composition is eye catching and the journaling is too sweet.  Love it!

Steffi's 25/09/1970  I must be drawn to warm neutrals, they run through most of my picks today.  However it is the perfect choice for this older photo.  I love all the journaling, and the texture of the layering and elements.

mrs2a50's love overflowing  Not only is this a terrific photo, she has managed to highlight it beautifully with the title work and framing.  Gorgeous!

jstbkuz's ferry fun  I love this layout...the energy of the photo flows out onto the page with the addition of swirls and dots.  Notice the subtle blend in the background and the way the title runs off the page.

jarmilka's I love you  Great page with lots of depth.  I was drawn to the interesting crop on the photo and the fabulous layering.

gonewiththewind's One Step At A Time  This is so pretty!  Purple for a boy layout isn't conventional but works so nicely here.  I appreciate how much thought went into the shadow work, she really paid attention to the highlights on all the elements and rotated and shadowed accordingly.

emilymerritt's Artist  This layout just makes me happy.  Give me art supplies and let me make a mess! LOL!  Everything is perfect here including the font for the jouraling.

Crystalbella77's happiest  How gorgeously soft and lovely!  Nothing is out of place here, I love the artist canvas feel with the hand drawn elements.

BridgetL's Our bit of heaven  Way to rock the pattern paper!  I love how the photo is framed to highlight the canoe.  The titlework is clever too!

Finger Pointing (Feb 2)

Hello Everyone. Hollie here filling in for the lovely Kate. Hope everyones week has been fab so far.

I am completely in love with this page. I adore how she incorporated the extracted photo into her little doodle world.

Miss Personality byAjaAbney

Loving this fun, quirky layout. The overscaled photo is awesome!

Fill My Cup by 1girl1boy

I love the tight cluster she created here and how the colors relate to the subject.

Falling Slowly by wildchild

What a wonderful layout this is. The lighting on the child is fantastic. It looks like the perfect Valentine's Day card.

Dont Grow Up To Fast by ikscrap

This is so much fun. Love the concept of fast growing kids and the little village.  Just FAB!

Living Life by nininano

A picture is worth a thousand words....and so it is. Simply perfect!

Printer Tray (Hybrid) by Vinnie Pearce

I am terrified of hybrid (don't ask) but this page makes me want to run out and buy glue! This is beyond goregous!!!

You Are Missed by Shades of Bliss

This is the sweetest tribute page.  I love the different photo effects and the different clusters of journaling. What a lovely way to remember this special friend.

Jessi2 by Conny

I am completely charmed by this page. I love the little girl nestled in the box. So sweet!

Finger Pointing {February 1}

Happy February everyone! We are this much closer to spring up here in Canada! Woooot! Erin here with some delicious Monday gallery picks, check these out and go leave them some love!!

Our Little Valentine by hutchie

This is just so classic and elegant. The photo is the total focus here and the simple design really highlights the sweet, tender emotion that I believe she is trying to convey. Gorgeous work.

Love by demi

The lighting here is really cool. So is the extraction and layering. This just really caught my eye, the dark background and the spotlight effect with all the little details flowing from the center. Awesomeness!

Fun by yvonne

Another center focused design that totally grabbed me. There is so much layering here and it's all beautifully shadowed and fantastically clustered. I love the arrow on the side too. This just plain rocks!

 Change by bho

WOW. That is really all I need to say on this one. This is amazing, the energy here energizes me just from looking at it! This is a beautifully crafted altered page!!!! Stunning!!

Bare Necessities by aly321

This is really cool!! I love the idea and how she scrapped little pictures of what she considers the bare necessities layered fabulously with cool element choices! Great, witty journaling too!

Together by designerbrittney

So this one is a scraplift of a GSO from yesterday, I really love how she made this lift her own and the vibrance and colours really made this page pop! Great storytelling too, this is a fantastic memory page!

...for U... by Magda lena

Uh....how cool is this!! I LOVE the worn, grungy, old, torn and crumpled look here. It's an awesome juxtaposition to the delicate elements, high key photo treatment and sweet subject!

Just Because by Ferdy

This one makes me smile! I love the colour choices she made and the paper pieced design with the grunged up text beneath it. This is so pretty and fresh and makes me think of spring and happy things! Love it!

All the Colors of the Rainbow by mmbstaley

Crazy Sweet!!!! LOVE the colours here, love the rich depth and vibrant explosion of pure colour! AAAHHHH! This makes me want to go paint my house or something so I can be surrounded in the way colour makes me feel. This ROCKS!

Finger Pointing (January 31)

Wow, the end of January already, how did that happen?! Here are my favourites from the galleries today!

Gabi's Six

The moment I saw this page I knew I wanted to lift it! This is such a great birthday page and a fun way to show all the little characteristics, hobbies and likes of the birthday boy! Fabulous composition and great use of  colour too, a page like this could easily get really busy really quickly but Gabi has pulled it all together so well with her choice of colours.

Jenny79's Love you

So pretty and so beautifully shadowed - a lovely delicate page just perfect for the subject matter.

ljsmom70's Paper

Another mosaic style page, but this time a photoless one. Clever use of the newspaper as the backdrop, this celebration of papers is such fun!

marnie's Her Hope

There are a lot of art journal style pages around at the moment, but this one really stood out to me. Click the link and read what Marnie wrote about the page, it's heartbreaking. This is what art journalling is about for me - expressing your emotions, both positive and negative.

Marussia's some notes about what Marc is watching

I really like the collection of random notes and all the symbolic elements here.

Maygirl's In the armchair

The colours first grabbed me here and then when I looked closer all the fun little details really drew me in, I really like how he appears to be reaching out of the background photos to grab the paper on the table. The repeated finger pointing photo helps create a strong focal point round the title.

nevache's In The Old Days

This is so beautifully done. The journalling is so touching and the gorgeous sepia tones throughout really help create a warm, soft, aged feel to the page which is totally in keeping with the subject.

osaru's sublime

So fresh and well composed, simply a lovely page.

rebecca h's Preschool Party

Just look at that journalling! I love how it becomes the pattern on the background paper as well as telling the story. Very cleverly done! Fun little touch 'cutting' the paper round the "love" title above the photos too.
