28 Nov

Ahhh, the new year is just around the corner, but December is nearer! The galleries are full of Christmas layouts and it is a delight to browse through them. Hehe it also means I need to start on mine too!

Here are my finds for today, enjoy and don’t forget to leave them some love!

Karen_Johnson’s Thankful for My Happy Home

This page is so full of color and happiness, and I love how she went all creative with the font! Awesome altered page!

monije’s Owlie Loves You

This is so adorable, the little guy peeking through the elements, the titlework, such a fun page to look at!

helenh’s holiday fun & games

The joy of Christmas gifts, fun take on her son’s point of view.

valeriapiemonte’s a totally different Christmas

A very unusual color combination for a Christmas layout, and I love it! Great crops on the photos and use of patterned papers.

Petra’s *goose*

*Sigh*, sweet, cute, adorable, I so love that smile on the little girl’s face. Beautiful page!

madigirl’s Het grote Scrapboek van Sinterklaas

Not celebrating Sinterklaas myself (Dutch Holiday with lots of presents a few weeks before Christmas), I certainly am familiar with the frenzy that goes along with it. And ofcourse those yummy chocolate pepernoten!

thinkblue’s My Little One

Such a delicate page, love the light touch, the simple use of elements and papers. Absolutely gorgeous layout!

Luciana Orikassa’s Xmas

I fell in love with this page the minute I saw it. Beautiful composition and just enough sparkle on it, fabulous!

esther_a’s camp book – cover

What a cool cover this is for her camp album! Love love love the setting with everybody on, over, under, in front of the title, very neat!

Finger Pointing (Nov 27)

Hello Everyone. Happy Friday to all. I imagine everyone is getting in gear for the holidays this weekend. I know we are.

Here is some inspiration that grabbed my eye today.

Almost by cherryberry

This is so much fun. I love the photo peeking out behind the elements.

A Few by joannknnrd

Swoon. Joann has such a knack for creating compelling imagery.

Joy by Zenobia

I think this is so sweet. The red is so much fun and I love the little paper strips on the edges.

Twas The Night Before Christmas by Niiki

I am completely charmed by this scene. Could it get any sweeter?

Happy Heart by lialotito

This layout makes me smile. I love the crop of the photos. Isn’t he the cutest little guy?

Natur by Jenny79

This layout has great texture and layers. Love how tactile it feels and really like the tone of the photos.

A Diploma by star74

This is totally fun. Love the mix of bubbles and goldfish and how she highlighted her DD with the lifering.

Sleep Tight by Lotta

This is so  enchanting. What awesome lighting and shadow work!!

Thankful by mom2peanuts

Look at how rich and detailed this cluster is!!! So elegant and pretty.

Finger Pointing (November 26)

26 Nov

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating today! I hope you are all having a wonderful day spent with those who mean the most to you.

Here are my picks from the galleries today:

alitfin’s riviera maya 2009

Such a great composition here and the sunny colours are wonderful, love the positioning of the wave at the bottom left and the infectiously happy line of journalling over the top!!

cherry’s soon

This is so beautiful, I love that blue and all the icy touches, the effect on the photo is perfect and the odd coloured words in the journalling really help to pull the whole page together.

Crissy’s Fright Night

Fabulous retro feel here with the effects on the photos, the frames and the tape – wonderful work!

Crystabella77’s addict

I love the colours here and the central composition, the journalling round the edge of the paper block is very effective too.

Julie DeGuia’s candy canes

This is a fun little story and I really like the photoless approach, sometimes words are all you need.

Leora’s advent calendar

It’s projects like this that make me want to leave my mouse and grab a glue stick instead! This is gorgeous, I love the colours and how simple the whole project is but how striking.

michellebatton’s Naval Collector

This is such a fabulous vintage page, it has such a rich antique feel and contains so much information.

Nettie B’s santa pictures

Great composition, I love the photos running across the top of the page and all the trims hanging down, very clever! Unusual choice of background paper for a Christmas page, but it works so well! I think I might have to lift this one :)

twentytinytoes’ I am thankful

I thought I’d finish off with a Thanksgiving page! This is such a happy layout, from the sunshine paper to the cute collection of bits and pieces and the wonderful journalling.

Finger Pointing (November 25)

25 Nov

In honor of Thanksgiving in America tomorrow, here is a feast for your eyes.  There are a lot of delicious LO’s in the galleries today!

4noisyboys’s Merry Christmas  I love the scene she’s created here.  The tree and presents, the swag of garland up above and the ornaments with photos hanging from it.

BrittanyLane’s Giving Thanks  The clean graphic style of this layout is easy on the eyes, and yet the worn edge and bits of pattern paper give added interest.

CindyS’s Glistening Smile  At first glance this LO might look like it came directly from a coordinated kit.  Then I noticed the credit list was quite long!  What an amazing job of matching elements and recoloring as needed!

court81322’s Believe  This is a gorgeous page.   From the beautiful photos, the texture, the composition and the shadow work.  So pretty!

hutchie’s Family Moments  Great color scheme!  It’s simple yet fun with that tied string interweaving it’s way around the photo.

JALong’s My Dad Made Me Peaches  I am a huge fan of scrapbooking stories like these.  Little things become big things when we take the time to document them for future generations.  I’m also digging the bright colorful blocks of fabric and the stitching.  It adds a handmade touch.

lmccandless’s I (really) Love NY  This layout is so much fun!  The pattern paper, the way she did the title, and the wrap around journaling with highlighted red words.  Great job!

nikkiARNGwife’s Happiness  This layout just made me happy this morning.  I love the bright colors, the layering and the positioning of the title.

soaring2him’s Water Wars  Here is an example of a thoughtful page design.  The background compliments the background of the photo, the water from the hose is extended past the photo with the swirls, and orange is opposite navy blue on the color wheel which makes the whole thing pop.  And we can’t forget about the cute umbrella accent!

Finger Pointing (November 22)

23 Nov

Well, it seems as if Christmas has hit the galleries early, there are loads of festive pages out there today! Here are my gallery favourites for the day:

amandajane’s 1974

I love the retro feel this whole page has, from the puffy letters to the patterned papers. The title made me laugh too :)

Gisele Cristina’s Christmas Day

There is something about this page that is just so magical, the scale of the photo and the presents really add to the feeling. Such an elegant page, this inspires me to scrap some tiny mobile phone photos I have but never thought “worth” scrapping, I think maybe “small is beautiful” afterall!

Karim Scharf’s Anjos

Such a simple effect and yet oh so effective, doesn’t it just make you want to step into that photo and soak up some sun?!

mommy22girls’ We Are All…

It was the photoless red, white and blue composition that initally caught my eye here, but the journalling is great too. Go cheerleaders!

monsu’s winter days

A super crisp winter page with just the right amount of embellishments. I love the controlled colour palette here, it really adds to the desolate wintery feel.

Nath’s Saturday Scraplift

I know it’s a cliché, but I love Paris too. This is beautifully scrapped, the colours are spot on and the elements cleverly chosen to enhance but not to overwhelm the photos.

Paula Francovig’s You Make Me Smile

This is so much fun! Fabulous use of that lovely turquoise blue against all the kraft and black, beautifully done.

RebeccaH’s Christmas Tree Skirt

Ha ha! What a lovely little memory to record. The composition here is wonderful, I love the white space and all the stitching and it’s a another page with well controlled colour.

snaggletooth75’s So Fresh

And finally, a little taste of tropical sunny days in the midst of all this wintery and Christmassy goodness! Fabulous layering, great composition and knockout shadowing, this is such a great page!
