April 29th – Fingerpointing

29 Apr

It’s only Thursday and the digi world is already gearing up for an amazing iNSD weekend. I think this is going to be the best one yet! I hope you have plenty of time to shop, scrap and partake in all of the fun. For me, inspiration from the galleries is one of the most enjoyable parts of being a scrapper. So, without further ado, I’m pointing to these layouts today.

YOU by coincon
This is such a visual delight! The vibrant colors, great photos and movement throughout the composition are awesome. The extraction takes this layout to the next level….SO fun!

Click #8 by whatnext
Funky, grungy awesomeness here, with the perfect amount of attitude. I love the black and grey with all of the paint and 2 pops of hot color. Super work!

little dreamer by magnolia2907
I was really captivated by the beautiful photo and stunning treatment. The layering and tilted composition drew my eye right into the pic. All of the details here are wonderful and well shadowed.

210 So. Clinton Ave. by LovelyMissKait
Super cool piece of art here! The backdrop and 3-D effect of the city combined with the brushwork make a perfect backdrop for the photo of her mother’s home. I think this is an amazing album idea as well!

Amish barn building by LaurieW
This photo is simply amazing! She has let it shine with the clean composition and by echoing the colors in it. A superb white space LO!

you are wonderful by RebeccaH
I love the bright, high-contrast colors here and the amazing photo. The clustering and matting are just perfect too. This has such a fun, artsy flair to it, wonderful page!

Lise by salamandre
The photo is beyond precious and she rightly made it the star of her page. The blending is superb and the restrained element use in the simple hearts is perfect.

Comparing Bumps by ginamichelle1111
I found this layout to be entirely swoon-worthy. It’s so tender and sweet, a lovely photo surrounded by all of the right bits. The layering and romantic style are so appealing, gorgeous page! I hope she’ll print this and hang it on her wall. :)

cheeky face by caits
This popped right out of the gallery! The high impact color, intense shadowing and black and white photo are so fun and fitting to the page’s theme. Really cute!

Have a great iNSD weekend! Enjoy the shopping but make time to scrap a page (or three)! Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you’re inspired!

Finger Pointing (April 28)

28 Apr

Happy Wednesday!  The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and a cool breeze is blowing through my windows.  So lovely!  Here are my picks:

joannknnrd’s The Fixer  She has done it again…capturing a bit of her life through symbolism and imagery.

jomi’s This is so you  I love this layout!  The soft distressing and inking of the background paper, little pops of pattern paper, a stunning photo, and great journaling.  Bravo!

Jule’s Cherish  Wow…great pops of color throughout this page.  I really like the cut out circles and do you notice how crisp and clear everything is.  Fabulous.

Julie DeGuia’s What’s in your purse?  Such a great idea to document what is in your purse.  It’s a great snapshot of your life.  I’m loving the overlapping letters in the title.  Her journaling is absolutely fabulous too.

melody’s Gramma’s Sourdough Pancakes  I think it’s hard to photograph and scrap food.  But this is fabulous and is making me hungry!

mom2peanuts’ You  This is the second layout I’ve featured with cut out/peekaboo circles.  I think it’s a great technique and adds texture and dimension without being overpowering.  Great color and element choices here!

osaru’s Paragliding  Stunning!  Cut up photos can look strange on people shots, but on scenery or panoramic shots, they can be very effective.  Note how she used the squares of blue paper to create a visual triangle.

terese’s everyday stuff  This is perfection!  The use of pattern paper, the coffee stain rings, the gorgeous photos, even the font choice is perfect.  Great job!

Zenobia’s True Love  Great pops of pattern paper and color.  I did have to take a second look at that journaling.  She got married at 7! :)
