Finger Pointing (September 2)

TGIF, everybody, and it’s even better because it’s kicking off a long, holiday weekend…woo hoo!
I have to say that everybody has really put out some inspired work today. I had a hard time choosing my favorites, but my finger is ready to point, so here we go!
I’ll kick it off with a layout that’s got everything – great design, blending, movement, and great color. It’s also super cheery and just makes me smile. Here is Hard at Play by JenLin.
Switching gears here to a layout that just really brings the drama. I love the dark background with the intense pops of color, and the images and lighting are just amazing. Here is Dark Place by hekas.
My next pick, Hope by Katherine B is practically the opposite of the previous layout, by being light and soft. It’s still packing a lot of drama, however. The brilliant use of white space, masking, subtle details like the butterfly, and the girl’s brillant eyes and beautiful lips make it amazing.
I LOVE this next layout. College Roomies by tkeetch just brings back all those great memories about going away to college, making memories, and having fun. The design is just brilliant, and really makes it easy to tell the story of a wonderful year together. The rubber band holding the photo is really, really fun.
The next layout just makes me a bit weak in the knees. Yes, it’s a stunning layout of a stunning person. I admit that looking at Zac Efron makes me a little giddy, and at my age, that’s embarrassing to admit. But hey, I can appreciate a beautiful layout and a beautiful man of any age. Zac by erica-zwart is a beautiful combination of blending, brushwork, and subtile coloring. Be still my cougar heart. Outstanding!
If there really is magic in the air, it’s at Disney at night. Wishes by roxana captures that magic, drama, and bright color of a night at the Happiest Place on Earth. The sparkles add a special touch.
My final pic for today is all about dimension and color. I admit that I’m a sucker for pink and green, so this just leapt out of the gallery at me. The flower elements and shadowing are beautiful, and I love the subtle journaling. Here is Happy Like Me by Zlata.
