Happy Tuesday everybody!  It’s a dark and dreary day here today and because I have been in such a grumpy mood, I decided to perk myself up by perusing the galleries. You all did not disappoint, as there are so many incredible layouts in the galleries today.  Thanks for helping cheer me up. Nobody likes a grumpy finger pointer!

My first pick today, No Tears in Heaven by finecraft, really tugged at my heart strings.  I attended way too many funerals in 2010, and I’d like to think that my loved ones are also now in a better place, one with no tears. I’m also a big Eric Clapton fan and that song has always been a fave, even if it was born from personal tragedy.  So bittersweet, just like this wonderful layout.

I just love, love, love Freshman 15 by Julie Billingsley.  All of the details on this one are just totally incredible. I think she must have started this layout when her son was in kindergarten – ha!  What a great way to capture so many of the little details of her son’s freshman year. The fact that she was able to do so much on one page is amazing to me.

Babies…babies make everybody smile.  Here’s a super-dee-duper cutie showing us her best stuff.  Here is Love Every Piece of You by brinic. I love every piece of this layout. I wish I had been scrapping like this when my daughter was a baby.

Like I said earlier, I’ve been a grump-a-saurus today.  A real Grumbledore.  I just haven’t been much fun to be around whatsoever, so if there is a layout out there today that’s going to turn my frown upside down, it’s Totally Awesome by snaggletooth.  And it IS totally awesome!  How can you not smile with that cute girl on the swing and reading “What time is it? It’s awesome o-clock!”?   Well yes, it IS Awesome O’Clock, starting NOW for me.

I love the next layout, Balloon Classic Sunrise by mmbstaley. The colors are so rich and beautiful and I love the added touches of sparkle.  There is just something calming, serene and beautiful about hot air balloons, and this layout captures it perfectly.  I also love how the layering at the bottom and the subtle blending and brushwork in the sky….. it’s just beautiful.

Finally, there are reasons why layouts are standouts. Some are standouts for their color, some for their journaling, some for their sheer beauty, some for amazing technical detail.  And then there are some that just STAND OUT. My last pick today, Cow Butts by nachtmol really stood out and made me laugh out loud.  Literally!  Even the title cracked me up.

You just don’t see that every day in the gallery!

  1. Wow, this is my first GSO. Thank you so much for pointing my LO out, I feel truly honored!
These – French – cows were on their way home to the farm to be milked. We had to slow down behind them and I could not resist to make some pictures. This one came out real nice and I had to make an LO with it!
    Thanks again!
