Hello everyone! It’s Carrie A. and I’ve trotted across Digiland to share some eye candy with you. For those of you who are thinking, “Who is this crazy lady trotting all over the place?”,  I’m on a few CTs, contribute to a couple of sites and have recently ventured into the world of teaching. You can catch my blog to learn more if you’re interested. Enough about me, let’s get to pages that made ooh and aah today.

Crazy Days by Juliette Perkins

That big flower on the black paper is eye catching. Add in the close up, split photo with the title in the middle and you have recipe for success. There’s a great diagonal flow to the page and the wonky letters are perfect for the theme. I love the tiny bit of gold quotations, but I would have never have thought to add the sparkles. Well done!

Starting Fresh by tylertoo

I love all the textures packed on the page. She used a little red heart to lead our eye into the page and the gold elements to bring our eye to the photo  The background turning into lace when it reaches the photo and the butterfly trail over the photo tells us the page is about an important time of change in the past.  It’s like stepping back in time… brilliant!

Faves @ 5 by sm_amber

The layout is just packed with so much fun stuff! I love the idea of doing a faves page for a little one. I love the funky vertical title, the mix of font colors and the 2 column design that keeps all the action organized. The photo crops are perfect, but my favorite part of this page has to be his signature at the bottom… they grow to fast, so this will be an amazing keepsake one day.

 Believe by motherbear

The color variations and smooth textures drew me in. I love the photos blended into the circles! The awesome clustering makes a great, sturdy home for the focal point photo. The gold stars give a nice downward diagonal flow while the numbers subtlety lead your eye down the page. It’s such a loving, hopeful page and I see something new I like every time I look at it.

Moments Like These by Amy Kingsford

On this page, she managed to use copious amounts of gold while keeping the page youthful and fresh.  The page is full of tone on tone patterns, giving the page a lot of texture and variety with a limited palette. Not only is that little one a cutie pie, the photo treatment is gorgeous. I love the heart scatter leading to the big, metal heart and word art is perfect for the title and the journaling.

Women at the Well by LynnG

I’m ending my first post with this strikingly simple page by LynnG. I love this modern, graphic take on a vintage photo. This is just one of many she’s using to create a book. I love how she used the lines and the colors in the photo to move your eye through the page. The woman in the foreground is aligned with the title, which moves in the scene at the fountain. The simpler the page, the more difficult the execution, but she makes it look effortless.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my very first picks as much as I’ve enjoyed bringing them to you… until next time… Scrap on!
