Finger Pointing – March 12th

12 Mar

Hi all! In my quest to bring you my picks today, as always, my journey through the galleries has been amazing. There are so many different styles out there and I love that all across the world we are sharing little pieces of ourselves, whether our artwork is about our families and loved ones, our pets, ourselves, special times and of course, the everyday moments that make up our lives. I also considered, as I went from gallery to gallery, how lucky we are to have endless inspiration at our finger tips, not only in the layouts that grab our attention but also the amazing products that are available for our craft. Here are the shining examples of artwork that I picked for you today.

The circular photo and dreamcatcher brushwork on Christaly’s Enjoy this Day page make a particularly interesting focal point. Those eyes! So beautiful! I love the range of elements and the colour combination is unusual and very pretty. The little cluster to the lower right adds balance and I like the printed strips that help add to the depth of the page.

Next up is a hybrid project by Monique_L_. I love how the digital cut file provides a super backdrop for the black and white photo and layered stack, while the mint green elements provide an unusual contrast. A lovely page design with the splatters and stitching finishing it of beautifully.

Now if I’d have been there on the spot, I would have had to give in and let this furry friend One More Cookie! Created by bcgal00, this fabulous action shot has been scrapped perfectly. I love the use of colour here and the scribbles and watery spots add particular playfulness to the page while the single button anchors the lot!

Another page where the colour combination caught my eye was Snapshot by Conny. With great use of patterned paper, the soft tones here really let the cute photo shine and the layered elements add great dimension. I also like the central position of the subject and the lovely blended backdrop.

I love the photo treatment and the random word art and elements that add a certain intrigue to Butter Pat by n33rd. The bottom border provides a focal base without encroaching on the white space and I like how the journaling is weaved in with the elements.

Colors of my life by beaute is my final choice for today. I could look at this layout ten times over and still find something about it that I hadn’t spotted before. The composition is amazing and each and every element works so well with the next. A delightful work of art that would add grace to any wall!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my picks for today and when you get the chance, how about leaving some love for the creators of these layouts in the galleries, or indeed, add a comment or two to any other work that sparks your interest as you go? I’m heading off to do that right now so, till next time, take care and happy creating!
