It’s been a rainy day where I live with more yet rain to come tonight. The heat index is supposed to reach 100 tomorrow, so I will be escaping the extreme heat & humidity right here in my air-conditioned house! More time for scrapping, right? But alas, since it is smack dab right in the middle of summer, here in the northern hemisphere anyway, I thought I’d cool off and focus on some fantastic summer scrapbook layouts in the galleries. Here we go with tonight’s Standouts! Enjoy and if you visit any of the galleries, please take a minute or two to leave the artists some GSO love. I know they’d appreciate it. The titles are direct links. Thank you!

Splash by Berry 18

Don’t you just love all of the action and energy on this page? The boy’s lime green shorts really pop with color and the green monochromatic theme is gorgeous! I love how the photo series leads the eye right into the water with a splash! The loops are the perfect accent around the swimmer in the water. I think the  simple word art and title work so well with this beautiful composition.  This is an awesome summer page!

First Day in the Pool by capopy

Now, this page will definitely help cool you down! I love all the water with the large photos blending right into it. This really gives you the feel of swimming in a pool with all those fun noodles. Our kids used to play with noodles too. The smaller framed photos are placed perfectly beside the word strips; very effective. I think the bold journaling really says it all! Fun summer page!

On the beach yeahhh by Tinisek 1978

This is just so incredibly adorable! I love the cute action photo in the water and the beach scene is just magical! The tiny boat just sits there waiting to take the little girl for a ride as the seagulls fly past. I think the pink umbrella and all of the beachy items against the fence are amazing. I just know this little girl is having a blast on the beach! Love everything about this summer page!

Fruity juice by Riina

Not all summer layouts have to include H2O! This gorgeous page is rich with bright reds and greens and a sweet photo in the middle. I love how the partial green circle frames it. The little ladybug and caterpillar sitting on the flowers are darling and also speak of summer. The “fruity juice” here is luscious!

the zoo by chigirl

A trip at the zoo has to be a highlight in a child’s world and such a wonderful way to spend a summer’s day! I love how this large photo takes front and center stage on this layout. “don’t feed the ANIMALS” is the perfect word art and I adore all the patterned paper pieces placed in the upper corner! Don’t you think the repeated title is awesome?  A grand summer page here!

July 2014 by jakrn

Let’s end tonight with this super bright and fun page! I’m cracking up looking at those boys and all their funny faces they’re making. Gotta love the blue candy lips too! The repetition of the similar photos really makes this pop and leaves no doubt as to who this story is about. There’s so many cute pool elements here and I love how the title is split across the page. That really adds a lot of interest. I bet most of you can remember back to playing with your cousins in the summertime. These little fellows definitely made memories of their own. Cute, cute page!
