We’re almost at the weekend, and for those of us in the United States, it’s the last blast of summer: Labor Day weekend! I have the privilege of stepping in for my friend Jeannette today, and was so thrilled to see the great choices in the world of scrapbooking and crafting. Today’s picks are brought to you by a love of multi-photo pages, great design choices, sewing AND cutting machines, angles, fades and shapes!

This is Liz, and these are my picks:

room to grow by Conny

From a super talented scrapper, this is a great multi-photo spread. The tilted strips of photos are adorable. I can just envision her capturing this little moment during a very animated conversation, can’t you? Love the graph paper and the grey/aqua/orange combination. I like the use of the numbers supporting this page top and bottom behind the photos. The flowers and paint, combined with the word art, round this out nicely.

explore your world by Kirsty.scanlon

What a terrific design on this paper page! Love the stitched circle (using an actual sewing machine!)! Combined with the handwritten text, and the cute little color spots adorned with  buttons, that circle just leads us through the page. My first thought was, I need to lift this digitally! I love that there is such great inspiration like this in the scrapbooking world. She cut out that “world” title, including the globe, with a Silhouette! The word strips are a nice touch, and that is a fabulous photo. This is just a great page.

Zomer/Summer by aliba2

This page has great texture and great photography. I really like the bubble wrap and brush work down the left side. The masking of the photo into that woven background paper is very effective. This page is so serene, I want to go lie down in that meadow.

Make the Most of These Moments by dotcomkari

This made me say “wow” out loud. The use of the dot leader stitching holes along with the polka dot paper helped give this angled page great dimension. I love, love, love the use of the different size and spaced text along with the wonderful journaling. The heavily shadowed wood chevron arrows and flowers are the perfect accents. This one really called to me.

back to school by Myla

There are a lot of us looking for great inspiration for back to school pages. This page had such unusual features, I spent a lot of time studying the composition. The shapes on this page really jumped out at me. The coffee stain rings are a cool effect. The photo frames are unique and fun and made for such a clever design! The subtle tucked-in globe supports the theme nicely. And, what school page would be complete without notebook paper! Those are some very real life photos, I love that she used those!

On My Way by anke

This could be an album cover! I love the photo perspective, of course, but even beyond that is the mint green photo quality. So cool! The fade toward the bottom leads us right to the cute little tucked in postage, the key lined title, and then on to the lovely journaling. The chevrons near the top are  like extra tracks leading to her future. Wonderful imagery!

I hope you love these picks as much as I did, and are inspired to use shapes, machines, multi-photos and terrific artistry on your pages! If you enjoyed any or all of the pages, please click on the linked title and leave some love for the artist. Happy Friday!

  1. I am very honored with this quotation in the honor list of this day thank you and congratulations to the other nominees

  2. Many thanks for the mention! I’m glad you liked my page, it was just one of those layouts that just flowed from the photo. Incidentally – it’s a quick snap taken on a fairly shonky iPhone!

    Happy scrapping!

    Kx
