Hope everybody has enjoyed their Friday.  It’s been a busy one here and a humid one (and we’re not even in Florida right now!).  It was so nice to sit in the air conditioned house and spend a leisurely few hours browsing the galleries!  I have to admit that today was a record day for me – the most ever layouts picked before the “getting them down to six process”.  Here are my choices for today.

The chevron-lines on the black and white background paper of Winter Robin by b2halter is the perfect backdrop for the gorgeous photo cluster.  The stamped leaves create a beautiful “resting place” for the framed photo and the elements.  Love how the buttons create a visual triangle and that their color is pulled from the photo.  Gorgeous page!

I love a beautifully put-together art journal page especially when it looks like it could have been torn out of a “real” art journal.  Pieces of Me by MrsPeel is just such a page.   I can imagine her physically splattering paint, gluing on letters and accent pieces, and drawing and journaling by hand.  The whole page is awesome but my favorite part is the word strip cluster.  I LOVE this page!

Creating a beautiful white-space page is challenging but timounette has pulled off a gorgeous one for the white space – challenge 6 at OScraps.  The photo treatment is awesome and works beautifully with the black background!  And the placement of the photo is perfect.  The addition of the brushwork or transfer (not sure which) with its beautiful colors really focuses the attention on the photo.  Gorgeous white space page!

When I saw Happy Summer Memories by Rubia Padilha in the gallery, I just smiled!  What fun photos and what a fun layout to showcase them.  I love the art journal look of this page.  The mixed look title is awesome and the elements she’s added are just the right touch for this summer page. (I am really a fan of the stitched paper strip at the bottom right.)  Love, love, love this page.

As I was browsing the galleries, I ran across many sports-themed pages (inspired by the Olympics, no doubt) but athletic by beehive50 really caught my eye.  That could be me handing upside down – my Mom used to yell at me all the time because I used the swingset as a jungle gym more than a swingset.  It was so much fun reading about her athletic journey through life.  I love the “stamped” title underneath the photo.  And that gem of a photo is perfectly set off by the sports brads!  The final touch of the swirls leading through the journaling to the brad at the end of it is awesome.

As I’ve mentioned before, I am definitely cluster challenged.  It’s obvious Conny does not have that problem because her Confidence is Beautiful page is a gorgeous example of clustering elements!  What really drew me into this page, though, was the gorgeous color scheme, the beautiful photos, and the amazing use of the patterned background paper.  Stunning page!

Those are my standouts for today.  If you’ve been inspired by them or just enjoyed seeing them, please stop by the galleries and let the artists know.  It really does give an artist a lift to be told that their work has been an inspiration to someone or a pleasure for someone to look at.  I’ve linked the page titles and images to make it easy to visit the galleries.  Thanks for spending your Friday evening with me and hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  1. A belated thank you (I was on vacation!) for the mention, Patsy and all of the GSO gals! I’m honored to be amongst all these fabulous pages!
