Finger Pointing – February 12th

I’m a little late – for me – with tonight’s post.  I was gone all day volunteering at the local scrapbook store preparing for their annual shop hop.  When I finally had the chance to check out the galleries, I found that my task today of selecting just six layouts to feature was going to be a daunting one!  What awesome layouts there are out there – if you need some inspiration, you just have to head to the galleries and get lost in all the beautiful art.  Well, that being said, here are the six I chose as standouts for today.

First up is this stunning heritage page, Wedding Day, by Margje.  I love the sepia tones she’s used and how she’s enlarged and blended that amazing wedding photo.  The quote cluster is perfect.  I have quite a few heritage photos and am always looking for ideas for scrapping them.  I’m definitely putting this one into my inspiration folder.

If you don’t think you can create a fabulous page using a template, take a close look at Welcome New Life by eve11ne.  The map background paper is perfect for the theme of her page.    Love how she’s pulled colors from the photo and used in the cluster. And that cluster is  a work of art!

Loveliness by MelDesigns drew me in the minute I saw it in the gallery.  Love the vertical orientation of the page.  The placement of the cluster (and it’s a gorgeous cluster) has created a wonderful white space!  The background with the combinantion of striped and floral papers  is beautiful. Gorgeous page!

I told you the galleries were full of loveliness tonight.  I love Snapshot by IntenseMagic but I also had another one of hers on my list of possible choices (Love).  I really had a tough time choosing between them.  The grunginess (aka messiness) of this page really appealed to me. I love how all of her elements and brushes encircle the photo keeping it the focal point of the page.

Love You More by judyinsd is a fabulous piece of art!  I’m not sure how she created the figures but they are beautiful!  The softness of the floral background paper creates a beautiful blend. And I love the placement of the flower cluster!  Beautiful page!

So, by now, everyone knows I am a sucker for a grungy piece of art journaling and Urban 5 by Lime is absolute perfection!  The colors are a perfect choice both for the quote and the grungy layers of brush work.  Awesome page!
