Hi everyone! It’s February 13 and some say that 13 is an unlucky number but not for me today! I’m the lucky one who has had the opportunity to browse through the galleries at all the awesome scrapping skills out there! It’s great to see so many different styles and more often than not, I find myself thinking “how did they do that…?!” And that’s when I realise there’s always something new to learn. But let’s take a look at what I found extra special today.
In a flash by Barbara Houston really spoke to me – and I’m sure it will to a lot of you too – in that we all know quickly time flies. Beautifully soft with blended photographs that provide comparison and a little bit of texture with minimal elements make for a truly pretty page.
I really like this bright and cheerful page, All I am by scrappingram. It’s so full of positive and encouraging messages, I feel so good after seeing this! I love the page design with the fabulous brushwork – the edging to this page is so cool – and there’s a great selection of elements and lots of gorgeous colour. A lovely, motivational page.
I can’t resist a ‘snow’ layout and Walking in a Winter Wonderland by Ernie88 is just terrific! I love the framing within the masked photo separating the colour part of the image from the black and white, giving the layout a real ‘brrrrrr’ feel. The teal cluster grounds the photo with the title beautifully and the white space makes me think there’s a whole lot of snow there!
The colour palette of Love is all you need by carrie1977 is one of my favourites and I’m also a huge fan of big titles. The lettering here is gorgeous and I love how the black and white photograph has been incorporated into the title and provides contrast to the layout. A perfectly chosen quote finishes off this page beautifully.
J’adore by domad had me smiling from the minute I first spotted it. I love the random selection of elements layered behind the black and white photo. The little pops of colour add interest to the page and there’s so much lovely detail here that each time I look at it I spot something else. A delightfully happy page!
My final pick for today is Yesterday and Today by TrishD. I love the artsy backdrop to this striking and beautifully treated photograph, truly giving the yesterday and today feel. The framing of the photo and the scribbles and splatters add a little delicate grunge. Perfect!
I do hope you’ve enjoyed my picks for today. Perhaps with Valentine’s Day tomorrow you may spare a few minutes to browse a gallery or two yourself and leave some love for the creators of the layouts that you find wonderful, beautiful and inspiring! Enjoy!
Love your picks, Liz, great post!
Thanks!
Thank you for choosing my page for the Gallery Standouts. It’s hard to find two images that will match as well as this one.
Trish
Thank you so much for picking my page as GSO! Of all the pages that I’ve created over the couple of years, this is the layout that means the most to me. Again, thank you so much!
