Hello everyone and happy new year! I hope you enjoyed your holidays. We certainly did but I have to confess, I’m ready to get back into my routines. I love fresh starts and getting organized and of course, starting a new year of scrapping bliss. I was so excited to start browsing the galleries again to find today’s standouts. Here are my six picks and I hope they will inspire you as much as they did me. Here’s to many happy layouts in 2016!
Let’s start with this breathtaking page by TrishD, A Kind of Magic. The dancer’s pose is amazing and blended masterfully. I love the colors and all of the textures on the background. The beautiful swirls seem to be dancing across the page with the ballerina. This layout is rich with artistry and truly a magical standout!
I’m sure most of us had a lot of family photos over the holidays but take a look at this one I found. all four of you? by Britgirl really caught my eye. First of all, I love the photo treatment she used; almost a vintage feel and blended out at the bottom. Love that! The white scribble across the whole page, along with some twisted stitches really draw the eye into the photo. Her many artsy layers are fabulous and take note of the little music notes and the cute font she used. This is a real standout for me!
Oh how fun is this one! Pintrest by destiney1 surely hits home for a lot of us these days. Some may say it’s the best thing since sliced bread! Go ahead and admit it, you could spend hours on Pinterest on any given day, too. This is just so clever and I love how she recreated her boards on this page and the logo really pops out! Splendid standout!
Forget -myself by mummyd is truly a creative layout! I pretty much love everything about it. The circular text path with the song lyrics really mimics the round album. The wordart is awesome and so is the broken record at the bottom of the page. The overlay and splatters help blend all of the elements together and I love the shoestring bow on top. Wonderful standout!
Next up is this gorgeous page by liek. Her Beautiful Eyes takes my breath away. I love how the photo is blended into the background and how her eyes are a bit mysterious because of the blending. The bird cluster is just one part of the richly textured page. I adore how the photo is cropped and the colors are so soft and beautiful. Lovely standout!
I have one more for you.
Love to Read by Irenchen is absolutely adorable! She really captured the imagination of reading with all of the whimsical elements in this room. The little girl looks all set to read with her old-fashioned stack of books. I think she might have some little friends to read with, too. I love the quote and how it looks painted on the wall. Darling standout!
That’s it for this time around. I’m truly excited to be posting again, as the Gallery Standouts Blog begins the new year! Please visit these artists’ galleries and leave a comment for them. I know they would appreciate it. Have a wonderful weekend and happy scrapping!
Beautiful choices! Congrats everyone!
Thank you Jana for including me in these great Gallery Stand-outs for this week. I was having a bit of a non-artistic slump over the last few weeks. Maybe because the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping etc. But I can tell you, being chosen for Gallery Stand-outs has really inspired me to get creating again in 2016.
Trish
