Hello and happy Saturday! There is a lot of terrific inspiration out there, and I had fun both looking back as we say goodbye to 2015, and looking forward as we begin our 2016 projects. Today’s picks are about photos that tell a good story, neutral color palettes, angles and more angles. I hope you will love today’s picks as much as I did.

This is Liz J., and these are my picks.

This is so romantic! Sometimes a photograph really says it all, and this capture is certainly making a statement. Love the paint and scribbly brush work, the neutral background, and the pretty-font word art on the photo. The subtle phrase under the photo really got my attention, “nothing ever happens the way you expect it to.” Love the way that simple phrase tells us what a great adventure they are having.

This photo is like a short story all in itself! Such a fun page, with the text positioned around the dog, the dog on alert, the little girl oblivious to the dog and intent on her meal. Great framing, extraction, and blurring of the photo, it all really gives us focus on the story. I like how the cute scalloping around the edges frames the page. Great way to tell the story, Mollie!

This page makes wonderful use of an angle, doesn’t it? Love the neutral colors, word art and especially the use of the doodly paper. The paint spots help lead us down the page and toward the title. The title itself is pretty and striking next to the photo. So much to love about this page!

2015 in review by Aussiegirl

I was on the look out today for a good recap page, and knew as soon as I saw it I knew that this was the one. Love the way she’s used the numbers to showcase all the great photos of their year. I like that she kept the rest of the page simple, with the easy-on-the-eyes notebook paper and simple adornment, allowing us to focus on the photo numbers. This will make a great cover to her 2015 album.

We are Made of Stories by Jennifer Hignite

As we end one year and start another, there were some great new year projects, including Project Life and one little word pages. I liked this one by Jennifer in particular because it made great use of the template, and is filled with wonderful optimism for the new year. Great word art surrounding the pie shape, and I love the angle on the journaling. Terrific patterns used for a mainly-boy page.

Christmas Collectibles by bbe

This may have been my favorite Christmas page in the galleries all season, so unusual and fun! Love the angle, and the use of the text paper and doily to center it all. Very fun way to showcase her collectibles, using the polaroid frames. Nice use of neutrals, and the wood word art throughout gives it a great theme.
