While browsing the galleries this evening I notice that artists have been busy creating. Perhaps it’s because of the recent holiday for some but whatever the reason I found quite a few inspiring layouts to show you today.

The page design in Motherhood Truths by marlathrall is striking because the photo, which is adorable by the way, and the embellishments are confined to the top third of the page. Only the journaling sits below. I can only imagine the five truths she has described here. The bits of black in the paper behind the photo and, in the word strips and alpha really pop when combined with her pink, green and neutral palette.

A Moment by profolly is a gorgeous piece of art. The soft colors of the masked and framed photo are so pretty and the watercolor splats as well as the gesso in the bottom corner add dimension to the layout. The little bit of black in the framing, word art and string contrast perfectly with the muted colors of the flowers.

What a perfect way to portray the word strong in Strong by breakingbrie. The journaling in the shape of the weightlifter combined with the clusters atop of the ends of the barbells is creativity at its best.

I love all the circles in this more traditional layout Be Happy by conniemiles. It’s the little additions that make this layout a standout like the popped up butterfly and stitched and painted borders framing the entire page. Combining the masked rectangular photo with the circular photos is a great design touch.

I really like the variety of framing techniques in Kermesse de L’école N°2 by myla. The red, white and blue palette is perfect for the collage of photos of the children cheering on the French soccer team. The photo masking combined with the gesso and swirls of paint is gorgeous and the chicken is the perfect added touch.

I can’t resist adding Sail Away by bbe for my final pick.  The photo treatment is amazing down to the reflection in the water. The placement of the frame is brilliant and the entire layout just sparkles.
