Hi everyone! Jana here with today’s Gallery Standouts! I’ve been busy all day working on various projects and now it’s time to relax and share some gems I found in the galleries. I found they all have lots of cool brush work and who doesn’t love good brushes! You’ll see a variety of photo effects as well. I know you’ll feel inspired to scrap some photos of your own after you take a look.

Let’s start with My Sketchy Days by TrishD. I absolutely love that image! It makes my imagination wonder what these gals were up to and where they were. I bet their “sketchy days” were full of all kinds of fun and mischief! This Photoshop technique of making a photo part sketch really helps pull your eye to the focal point and I love all the brush work she used. Fabulous standout!

Look at this next one… the whole page seriously jumped out at me in the gallery! A Quarter Century Old by EllenT has lots of brightly colored brush work against a white background, which really makes it pop. Notice the black frame isn’t around the photo, but rather, behind the cake element. I love that! The black & white photo is perfect and so are the word strips journaling and the title alpha. What a great page design! Awesome standout!

Here’s another part sketch page I found today. I think it’s just breathtakingly beautiful! Always and forever by clindoeil is a richly artistic page that takes a wedding photo to a whole new level. It oozes romance with the bride and groom walking to perhaps their honeymoon location and with the wordart. The colors and all of the textures are lovely and really bring everything on this beautiful page together. Artsy standout!

I think a lot of us mothers can appreciate this next one. My heart aches by anneofalamo  expresses her genuine pain and fear in regards to her son. I’m sure this was therapeutic scrapping and there are times when we could all scrap similar emotions. The shadows across the bottom and the U.S. Army emblem tell us the events of her story in a dramatic way. Great brush work and the “faith” word art is perfect and so comforting. Heartfelt standout!

This next page just plain made me chuckle! Look at that driver…what a fun image beaute used on Boys Rule! I adore that car and the date on the license plate is so clever. Great brush work and the black really grounds everything to the page. Love the soft colors and elements she used. Super standout!

Closing today’s picks is this amazing page by HeyJude. Believe in Yourself is a beautifully artistic page about self esteem. The graphic focal image is very striking and the supporting smaller photos are just wonderful! Such a variety of photo effects! I really like that background paper, especially as it is blended with the large photo.  The word strips keep the journaling simple, yet to the point. The trio of purple butterflies add such a lovely soft touch to this layout. Outstanding!

That will do it for this time around. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you love these standouts as much as I do. Grab a few of your own photos and give some of these ideas a try. You know where to leave some love for these artists…just click on the links I included with each one. Happy scrapping and see you in the galleries!
