Hello and welcome to this special iNSD weekend! Also happening this weekend are the Kentucky Derby (go Nyquist!) and Mother’s Day. All around a great weekend! This weekend’s picks are all one photo fun, but what incredible techniques we are seeing! Come take a look!

This is Liz J., and these are my picks.

Boys only by Judy in SD

Such a great boy page. I loved the nod to David Bowie in the text. Great graphic and straightforward design. The little wire airplane is seriously cute, and the perfect emebellishment for that adorable pilot photo. The bright yellow looks great with the near-black and white photo.

The framing on this is way cool, isn’t it? I like both the repeat image framing, and the key line framing the whole piece. Rachael created such an amazing effect with the repeat staggered size photo, using different photo treatments on each. Great elements on this page. Love the butterflies.

Mother: A Special Kind of Love by Chastml

As we come up on Mother’s Day, of course we have to have one page to celebrate the occasion! I loved the very real journaling on this one, with a great list of things she loves about her kids. The vertical line of the photo and paper strips on the left is balanced nicely with the banner and hand-writing text on the right. Great candid photo, and that word art with the pretty elements in the bottom corner looks really beautiful.

Barbara is one of my favorite scrappers, I just love her style. This whimsical page just jumped out of the gallery at me. Love the design with lots of white space on top, the circle cut out frame for the journaing, and that great photo. Sometimes the perspective on a photo makes all the difference on a great page, and this is a good example of a truly special perspective.

Sunshine by 4noisyboys

Another page with a special photo perspective. I love that walking behind focus. The thing that appealed to me about this one is the wood background and the great spill of flowers scattered across the page. I feel like everything came together on this page with great deliberation, but it seems unplanned; that’s the sign of a great page.

The Riverwalk by b2halter

How cool is this? Love the sketchy look and the insert photo of the shoes walking through the scene. Super fun idea and very well executed. This makes me think of going abroad for a visit and jetting back, just a really fun page!

I hope you enjoyed today’s picks! If you loved one or all of the picks, please click on the linked title and leave the artist some love! Happy Mother’s Day, and have a great weekend!
