Seasons change and we move from one holiday to the next with hopefully a bit of time for you to catch your breath. There’s so much inspiration in the galleries it’s difficult to narrow down the choices. It’s Beatrice on the blog and here are my picks for today.
I thought I was so over Halloween and then I spied Not So Wicked by jaye. There was no way I could pass up this cute doggy layout. The photos are priceless. I really like the grid design and her use and placement of embellishments, especially the stitched circles across the top. The title work is outstanding and adding gold and blue to the typical Halloween palette gives the layout a unique and sparkly look.
Scary Bats by tracermajig may look like just another Halloween layout but a quick read of the journaling proves that it’s not. There’s a lot going on here but the layout is still clean looking with the stacked page edges and limited color scheme. I love all the different kinds of bats from sketchy to sparkly and the photos are adorable. More great title work with the combination of script and classic fonts. The scribbles, paints and scatters finish things off just right.
Moving away from the holiday but staying with the season is my next pick, The Scent of Fall by Sylvia. The masked photo taken from behind is the perfect autumn shot. The combination of hand-drawn and paper leaves cascading down the edge of the page moves the eye toward the title. The textured paper is the perfect backdrop and the bits of text and sketchy branches and birds support her theme. The half circle of patterned paper and buttons in the opposite corner complete the page.
Leaves by profolly is another seasonal page but one different from the layout above. It’s difficult to imagine that something could be more breathtaking than the actual changing colors of the leaves in the fall, but this layout artist has achieved that and more. The intensity of the colors is amazing and little is needed to embellish this page. The journaling on a slight curve, the brad and charm, dangling thread and bit of paint complete this gorgeous white space layout.
The photos in Champaigne Valley by ChaosLounge are quite serene but it’s the background of this page that attracted my attention. I really like all the paper blends, text and gesso with scribbles of paint over the top. The arrows lead the eye into the layout. The clusters are small and pretty and I love the way the photos are fastened to the page with stitches, staples and snaps. Framing the photos in white makes them stand out against the busy background,
exceptional by n33 is my final pick. Combining the gorgeous, large photo with the angled pieces of paper gives a unique and creative look to the page. I love the way the photo is creased and textured. This page truly is artsy and exceptional in every way.
Once again I’ve come to the end of my post. We are nearing the weekend and I hope it will be a happy and relaxing one for you. As always, it would be most appreciated if you would click through the links and leave these well deserving artists some love.
Thank you so much for choosing my page! 🙂
