Happy Saturday everyone! It’s going to be a beautiful day where I live and I’m going to be out and about today, but before I start out on my day’s projects I’m happy I get to sit in front of my computer for an hour or two looking at so many creative scrapbook pages! There are just so many beautiful layouts in the galleries to choose from – it’s hard to narrow it down to only six. I have to admit though, the issue with starting my day out in the galleries is that it makes me want to scrap and I will then have to work hard to stop myself and actually get started with my day’s projects. 😉 BUT … it is nice to know I’ve got this inspiration out there for when I do get a chance to sit down and create!

Then and Now by Jennifer Hignite

Jennifer always creates such awesome scrapbook pages. She’s been scrapping for a long time (as have I) so I’ve been seeing her pages in the galleries for years. It’s fun when I can see pages in the galleries, recognize the people in the photos and know whose page it is before I even see the scrapper’s name!

I really love Then & Now comparison pages. I always find them so fun to look at! It’s so fun to see photos of kids when they’re little next to photos of kids when they’ve grown so very much. It’s hard to imagine such little kids together in a tub growing so very tall. 🙂 These kinds of pages are always such treasures in a scrapbook album! I really like the soft colors on the page with the soft blue green. I like the ink spatters and that little string tie on that big ampersand.

Color Challenge: Bahamas Saratoga Perch by smcloone

What a gorgeous page! That blended photo is fantastic. The blending with the texture and color of the background paper peeking through is so striking. I love the little doodle on top and that great element cluster with the beautiful shadow work. The addition of the tiny film strip with the full color photos is a nice touch. This would make a great cover to a summer album!

Summer Fun by AmieN1

When I saw this page I was immediately struck by the awesome colors. There are so many bright colors on the page – in the photos and in the papers – and it all works so very well together! It’s such a happy page. I love that there are people photos and that she also included the fun photo of the beverage and the dog looking on at all the fun. 🙂 I like the little banners peeking out on the left and the right and the two long paper strips grounding it all and how she used her shadow work talent to curl up the long paper strips. Awesome page that really screams SUMMER!

Altitude Adjustment by smultringunn

What a beautiful, clean, travel page. I love the angle of the photos and the journaling. I love all the journaling she added got the page. (I love pages that really detail a story!) Those photos are amazing! I like how the two title words are split perfectly with the photos and the journaling and the line between the two parts of text. I like how there are no shadows on the photos, etc. and that the title work pops up a bit. This is such a striking page!

Summer Sunshine by gonewiththewind

This page is so incredibly pretty. That photo is amazing and I love that she used the space on the photo for her title work. The yellows, blues and greens are gorgeous together. I love the doodled border and that great watercolor camera drawing your attention to the little tags with the details of the page. Her clustered elements and paint work and all the little details on the page work so very well together!

Project Life Week 24 by anke

What an amazing project life page! I absolutely LOVE this page! I love the white background and how overall the page has such a clean and simple look – yet it’s not simple at all. It looks like you can reach out and touch and feel the photos curling up and the little strings and buttons lying on top. I love how much journaling Anke has included. I love her photos of things she’s seen and done during her week. It reminds me I need to take more photos of the things I see during my day and not just people photos (which I also don’t get enough of either). I like how she’s got the days of the week written on the photos and how she’s paired black and white photos along with color photos. I like how she’s used the greens in the photos and is using that same green for the tag and the date highlight in the journaling. Awesome, awesome page!

So …. there you have it … my choices for today. I hope you enjoy them! The artists pour their heart and soul into their pages … and you can see it in their beautiful pages. If you’ve got a moment, click on the links (the titles of the pages) and leave the artists a little love!

As my kids’ high principal said to them every day in the morning announcements …

Make it a good day … or not … it’s up to you.

Any day you get to scrap puts some happy in your day, so …. happy scrapping!

Barbara
