Hi everybody! It’s a gorgeous day out here on the middle of the Oregon Coast–I’m looking forward to sharing some beauty with you wherever you are!
First up, this wonderfully sassy, over-the-top busy page by Cindy B., We Got Style. Just love the play between the dresses and the background paper!
Pizazz gives us Fun In the Sun, another page that really packs in the elements and the photos, although this one leaves a lot of white space that lets the wordart title shine:
Suzyqscraps’s page, Summer Is, of course grabbed my attention with all the color, but I also really love how that color is layered and re-layered, and how all the teensy, tiny elements play together.
Contrast is always a great design principle to play around with, and in her Summer Fun, Ga_L does just that. She uses the muted colors of the background and the gentle black and white photos to make the few colors she has POP! (Plus, I really dig those pages that use a totally white background to add shadowing so that it looks like it’s super 3-D… =) .)
Here’s another page, Fishing Time, that uses design principles to great effect: Got2DigiScrap uses papers bisected by ribbons vertically to give her page a fun sense of rhythm (and remind us of fishing poles!). In addition, I love how she guides the viewer’s eye right through the layout from the bottom left to the top right, tilting the bottom photo to start the line, continuing it with the diagonal stretch of mesh, and then ending with the only color photo on the layout (the other two photos continue that diagonal with the fishing poles).
Finally, here is Mom’s Family, by LBscraps. I know that Lori recently lost her mom, and I think the conflicting emotions are aptly echoed on this page with a profusion of shapes and colors. But in the end, the love and light just shine out, and I really admire how she got the page to come together so beautifully.
I hope you’ve all enjoyed my traipsing across digiland today!! Thank you all for sharing your artistic creations. ♥
