Happy Sunday everyone! On my GSO posting days I always try to start out my days grabbing a cup of coffee, snuggling into a comfy chair and browsing the galleries. It’s such a nice start to my day! I do so love our memorykeeping / art making / scrapping hobby!
Traditions by blackkathy : To be honest I’m happy I get to do a GSO post this week. I saw this page from Kathy in the gallery and I just loved it so much I’ve scraplifted it myself already! 🙂 Her page is clean and simple and oh so striking. I love that gorgeous background paper topped with the clean stroked cream paper lying on top. Her little bits of red accents and the placement of the perfect amount of elements to highlight her pumpkin bread photo make for a lovely page. I also enjoyed reading the story behind her pumpkin bread. Great journaling and telling the story behind the photo is such an important part of a page!
The Magic of Christmas by Ellen T : I love the beautiful soft colors Ellen used on this page. The pinks are so pretty. I love the light wood background paper topped with the snowy dots and how she “painted” the paper with the string of lights onto the background and her transparent card placed atop the beautiful photo. What a beautiful winter scene. It almost makes me like winter … almost. (Sure, winter can be so pretty … if only it wasn’t so cold!)
St. George Sunset by Earl of Oxford : What beautiful photos. I love the design of the three strips of the gold paper and each photo sized exactly the same sitting atop those strips. I love her simple title with the alpha created from the typewriter font, distressed and slightly popped on the page. The little “paradise” strip accents the photos perfectly and the simple journaling centered on the middle strip to tell the story of the photos is a perfect placement for her story. Grounding the entire page with the dark background paper really makes it all “pop”. What a lovely page!
Week 46 by shannonroller : What a lovely weekly recap pocket style page. I love the clean and simple feel and the way Shannon overlaid each photo with a light word or phrase to summarize the feel of the photo. I like that she just framed the one photo and all the journaling she included. The photos really shine on her page!
Always Something To Be Thankful For by Margje : What a beautiful artsy page. Margje’s photo appears to almost blend into her painted brushwork behind the framed photo. I had to look for a while; was it part of the photo or not? It isn’t (I don’t think), but it all blends together perfectly. I love the watercolor brushwork and the sketched doodling; and I love the sentiment. Her page is a beautiful piece of art!
Perfect Brew by christellevandyk : I’m a big coffee fan so this page jumped out at me in the gallery immediately. I love her photos highlighting her favorite brews and the shot of her cup in the individual sized coffee maker. That background paper is awesome with the words over the warm wood paper. I like her clusters of elements and how she placed the ric rack so it framed up the photos. This is just such a fun page!
That’s it for me today. I hope you enjoy the pages I’ve selected for you. Happy scrapping and for those of you in the US, I hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving celebration next week!
