Hi all! It’s Barbara coming to you with my picks for today’s Gallery Standouts. I’m getting an early start on my GSO post because I’ve got a to do list a mile long. Don’t worry though … doing some scrapping is on my list too!

In the Tree by grandmalinnie | What an awesome picture. I love her journaling – it’s such a fun story! I’ve seen pics of a bunch of kids in a tree – but not photos of a tree full of adults. Ha! I love that she made the photo take up so much of the page. The title word art is perfect for her story. This is just all in all a super fun page!

Summer at the Beach by chai | What a happy summer page! I love that she used the beach scene photo as a backdrop for her page. Great thinking to snap a photo like that! I love the bold watercolor alpha and that she matched her papers so perfectly with the colors in the beach towel. The epoxy bubbles are perfect as they move up from the cute fish to the photo cluster. This page is making me want to head to the beach!

Summer Getaway by Cherrylej | Here’s another wonderful beach-y page for you today and this one is totally different than the previous beach scene page. I love all the dimension in her element clusters. Her shadow work is absolute perfection. She used such a wonderful collection of beach elements; I love the flowers and the tiki lanterns, umbrella, the freezie … all of it! Everything is a perfect accent to her summer beach photo!

Journaling_SeriousLife-Connor by SharLamb | Wow. This is an amazing page and she didn’t use a single digital product to create her page … just her digital Photoshop skills (I’m assuming she used Photoshop). Awesome! I love the graphic feel – it looks like a magazine ad! I love the look of the overlay over the left side and the way she altered her lettering according to the part of the photo it is was covering … genius! What an awesome page. Life does get more serious at 15, doesn’t it?

Weeks 13 & 14, 2019 by tracermajig | Trace created such a super fun and happy project life page here. I adore that black dotted paper in the background and her fun element choices. The great colors in her papers and elements and photos make this a totally cheery page! That bright banner on top is a nice touch. I love her simple title card with the colorful “This Week”. I always like the look of text on a photo (it’s such a great place for journaling when there’s room on a photo!). I did Project Life for years (It’s super weird to me that I’m not doing it this year!) and there were plenty of times when I found I somehow forgot to take my camera out for much of the week. What a good idea to combine two weeks together; I don’t think I ever thought to do that. What awesome documentation of her everyday life!

Photo of the Day by Renate | What a great photo! Her blending of the photo into the background paper is awesome. I love that it’s a mix of blending and the look of marker lines on the edges of the photo. I like the way the Photo of the Day frame is blended into the paper and into her photo. The pops of color with the flowers and brushwork are all nice touches. I like her statement “If you just focus on the smallest details you never get the big picture right.” What a great page!

That’s it for me today. I hope you enjoyed my pics for you today. Have a great Sunday and if you have a moment, I’m sure the artists would appreciate it if you left them a little love in the galleries!

Barbara

  1. What an honor. Thank you so much. I’ll pass congrats to my DDIL, who took the incredible photo.
