Hi! I hope you’re all having a good Saturday or Sunday, depending on where you are in the world! I’m having a pretty lazy one if I’m honest, despite me having so many things to do… but sometimes you’ve just gotta kick back, hey?!
I always love checking out album covers and cover65 by lego entices me to turn the pages! I love the pegged approach here with all the detail hanging like vacation tickets and tags confirming that this was a wonderful adventure. I also like the unusual landscape formula and the fact that the content of this project is my home country – it’s unusual for me to see pages of Wales and England within the scrapping community so that’s an extra treat for me! A lovely cover page!
I like the vertical design of Sometimes Prickly by bbymks5 and the patterned papers are perfectly coordinated. The torn layers and pretty banner add interest and I love the contrast of the title work. This page also reminds me that I must take more selfies because I don’t have people who like to take photo’s of me… I know, sad, hey? But so true! Seriously though, I love the large photo here and the title resonates with me because I too am sometimes prickly! A beautiful layout!
Another great page design is Happy by JillW – I love the split backdrop with the solid colour and text paper. The strategic placement of the sweet photo and journal card adds interest as these elements break away from the circular layers and the pretty floral clusters. A little bow, a piece of string and some tiny scatters add the perfect finishing touch. Delightful!
As a lover of big (and I mean big) word art, Do What You Love by Katie Pertiet made me screech to a halt in the gallery! Pretty pink florals left and right give the word art the space it needs to make a bold statement and I love the split photo placement. A dash of splatter, some vintage brushwork and a little journaling complete this masterpiece. I totally love this!
I always enjoy checking out how scrappers use colour on their pages and May Random Challenge by MiekSter is a fine example of one of my favourite ways to use colour. A few similar tones, a neutral or two and a good helping of black for contrast is a winning combination. I love the orange/pink/neutral tones that allow the gorgeous black and white photo’s to grab attention and the crops on those images are perfect. Lots of little detail, the pins, the buttons, the labels, the brushwork, the scatters, the stitching and the wonderful journaling spot make this page a winner… it’s fabulous!
Forever Young? by Sokee rounds up my post today. I enjoy ‘notebook’ style pages – they always remind me of the notebooks I kept in high school. I love this monochromatic page with its tad of mustard and green, the paper blocks and the masking while both the photo and journaling are so authentic. Another page that’s inspiring me to document more about myself. A wonderful page!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my picks for today. When you get a moment, please click on the links above and leave a comment or two for the artists. Till next time, take care and I’ll see you in the galleries!
