Good morning and happy Monday. I’m hoping to start your week with a peek at some stunning projects I found while browsing the gallery. I’ll get right to it- it’s Beatrice on the blog today and here are my picks.

Friends Forever by LisaMT

I really like the textured background the artist chose to complement the soft colored elements. The black brushwork contrasts with the overall palette of the page and draws the eye to the journaling. The design is flawless with the photos placed across the bottom of the page and the title-work in the upper right corner.

There’s no doubt that it’s often the photos that draw me to a page and these are truly outstanding. I like the perspective on the large photo and the close-ups captured in the smaller photos. The bright green leaves and title work contrast perfectly with the subtler greens in the photos. This page definitely has me longing for full on spring.

April Showers by caapmun

Not a hint of a gray, rainy day in this project. I love the bright colors in both the photo and the carefully selected brushwork. That colorful umbrella is stunning and works just right for the page. The framing and words art used for the title are delightful.

The marbled photo treatment was what attracted me first to this page. I’ve never seen it done before and it’s very effective here. I like the way the artist combined it with the blend and the traditional shot. The monochromatic look works so well and the single red brad really pops. The journaling and title work are the perfect finishing touches for the page.

Lady in Waiting by AZK

With Mother’s day yesterday I saw quite a few pages in the galleries commemorating this particular day and this one was a favorite for me. The subject is unique of course. I like the way the paint is placed at opposite corners and the photo masked in between. Adding the little bit of re-colored doily atop the paint is a creative touch and the single yellow bloom both contrasts via the shadow and enhances via the yellow similar to the color in the paint. The title font and placement is ideal.

Sunshine on My Mind by Elodie L

There are a lot of techniques that can be accomplished digitally that are either impossible or very difficult with a paper page. The one thing that’s very tricky to duplicate digitally are shadows. I know some artists are quite accomplished at it but this page shows me that shadows are much more realistic with paper. The butterflies are literally flying off the page. The delicate dots in the background showcase the butterflies flawlessly. I like the way the elements and photo are placed around the perimeter of the page and the way the artist hung the banners from the title.

I hope you enjoyed today’s picks and of course if you have a minute click through the links and leave these artists some love. While you are visiting the galleries be sure to find some inspiration of your own. Thanks and have a great week!
