Unless you try to do something beyond what you already have mastered, you will never grow.

I love the first of the month at all my favorite scrapbooking sites! So many new releases, new sales and specials, and all those wonderful new scrap-challenges! Each month they encourage us to try a new technique; use a fun template, wordart, or font; give thought to different themes and ideas; or even to just scrap more pages. Whatever the challenge, it’s a wonderful way to get out of our comfort zones and spice up our scrap lives! Here are just a sampling of the wonderful challenge layouts in the galleries right now…
Bear by Mia5girls
I just love the monochromatic style of this page. And the way she created the stamped background makes me think of an acrylic overlay, so cool. I love that sleeping bear curled up below the photo, and that sweet little girl… priceless!

I was intrigued by the slight tilt of this beautiful page. Her brushwork and stamping is amazing. I love the feather in her cluster and that curly ribbon winding through is perfect. Notice the little wordbits!
Lollipop by CharlotteM
Wonderful use of color and white space on this next page. I love the background paper with the bold stripes. Great idea to mix black and white photos with a full color one. Her scatter and tiny elements are simply adorable together with the fun paper sun and cloud!
Moraine Lake by Glori2
A stunning photo made even better with a great extraction! The way she clipped the extraction with the frame layered between is so clever. And I really like the different zoom perspectives of the 3 smaller photos. The vertical title and journaling, and the simple flower accent finish the page off splendidly!
Nature Walk by LoveItScrapIt
The colors of my next pick are so beautiful together! I love how they enhance the terrific nature photos. Her clusters layered behind the pictures add so much depth. And notice the little tag at the top, what great way to add just a spot of journaling!

I don’t think this layout was created for a challenge, but she is one of my fav scrappers and this page jumped out at me from the galleries! Such a clever arrangement with the title in the middle. I really like how she used the same pattern paper in different colors to frame her photos and elements. And that giant pencil… A+!
Having created challenges in the past, I know how hard all the fab designers and creative team members work to bring new ones to us each month. So stop by your favorite forums and check them out. And while you’re there, spread a little goodness in the galleries too!!
