Well here we are, almost at the end of May… that’s crazy! While the world is still a little off it’s axis, I hope you and your families are all safe and well. I also hope that through these crazy times you are managing to carve out some time for yourself, some time to do the things that you really enjoy and some time to feed your soul.

So let’s take a look at some amazing pieces of work that I found in the galleries today.

I couldn’t resist opening up this blog post with Last Day Photo by spcoggs. A black and red colour palette is always super striking and a photo full of cuteness makes it even more special. I love the bold blocks, the pencil scribbles and the minimal embellishments while the short and sweet journaling block finishes off this page beautifully! So gorgeous!

An extraction always provides great dimension and Forward is Forward by Rollinchen is a wonderful example of this technique. I love that the biker and the ribbon twist adds movement and the blended image of the ladies gives me the impression that they are enjoying being spectators. An awesome page with a wonderful message!

I’m pretty sure we’ll all have a reference or two of the current global circumstances in our scrapbooks this year. I particularly like how the teal tones work so well with the black and white image on Ga’L’s page entitled The New Norm. Beautiful layers and an assortment of brushwork that are perfectly clustered make this page one of my favourites on this particular topic! Perfect!

Sea World by jirsev literally stopped me in my tracks. A wash backdrop always looks amazing and with such an adorable photo nestled so beautifully against layers of carefully chosen patterned paper, adorned with a gorgeous array of florals and finishing touches of pretty octopus and seagulls, makes for a page full of eye candy!

I love repetition in scrapbooking and when that repetition is colour blocking, I love it even more! Love This by Kayleigh has been created with such a pretty colour palette and a trio of element stacks with the most wonderful variety of embellishments. Every time I gaze at this, I see another pretty element that I hadn’t seen before! Amazing!

That Nostalgic Feeling by zotova is so romantic with its blending and soft and pretty tones! The splashes of grey add a lovely contrast to the pinks and greens and I love the mixed media elements that give texture and the pretty flower and stitching that anchor the image so beautifully. I seriously love the emotion in this page… it’s absolutely stunning!

I hope you’ve enjoyed these wonderful pieces of art and that they inspire you to document some stories of your own. When you have a moment, please click on the links and leave a comment or two for the artists and, in the meantime, take care, stay safe and I’ll see you in the galleries!
