Monthly Muse September 2020 – Week2 – Smile by Claire Grantham

And here is my first pick : an amazing paper collage work and painting set. Don’t forget the very original photo treatment which brings grain to the composition. A very nice page from Mixed Media.

This second page is a page without a photo but with a huge amount of technical work. The shadow of the butterfly is very nice and it gives the impression that the butterfly will fly away from the leaf. The overall lighting of the page is also very well done and the message on the small card is great.

Diabetic by WiredLady

On this third page, the harmony of the colours makes it possible to forget a little bit the not very funny theme of diabetes. The use of paints and background paper are very successful.

The photo treatment on this fourth page is very beautiful. The paintings and the fading give the impression that the whole thing is one. The idea of the small photo as a reminder is very creative. The words of art, which are also inlaid in the background, deliver a nice message.

The fifth project is a hybrid project. The horizontal design and the circles form a beautiful harmony and amplify the smiles in the photos.

Rain Of Love by Grażyna Wrzask

The photo treatment of this last page gives a result halfway between the photo and the drawing. The use of watercolour paints accentuates the fading of the photo. And the pretty words of art give an airy side to the whole.
