It’s a cold, snowy day here in Michigan so I was happy for the opportunity to warm up by browsing the galleries. It’s Beatrice on the blog and here are my picks for today.
With All My Heart by carrie1977
The vertical flow of this page is pleasing. The combination of font, alpha and word art create wonderful, typography. The kraft background is simple and therefore the perfect backdrop for the page.
There’s so much to see on this page. The stacked cutout heart framing is a great place to start. I like the way the embellishments and journal card are tucked between the layers. The bundles of flowers are balanced while placed across from one another. This is a creative no photo page.
Let Love Bloom by Deborah Wagner
Not surprisingly the galleries are overflowing with valentine pages. I like this one for its simplicity though the list of credits is impressive. It’s also an unusual palette which makes it stand out from other similar pages. The photo is lovely, and the layer of black helps ground the hand-drawn background.
The heart bits and sketchy doodles complete the diagonal flow and tie the two photos together. This is another example of beautiful typography and placing the quote on top of the photo is the ideal spot.
Empty Nest? Not So Fast by kendall1
Raise your hand if you can relate. This page definitely made me smile. I like all the pieces of word art and word strips. The alpha combined with the journal card creates an awesome title. The cluster is full but not overwhelming. The embellishments are an excellent choice for the theme.
I admit it can be impossible to avoid personal bias when choosing the projects. It seems I am drawn to pet pages and in this case to one where the subject looks a bit like my own kissy face. The composition is simple and draws the eye toward the adorable photo (great crop). I like the way the artist used the journal card and kept the word hello small, placing it on the photo. The pops of red are just right and complement the palette.
Well, it’s happened again, and I reached the end of my post having finally narrowed down my choices to the limit of six. I hope I have sparked your creativity with these pages and that you have a minute or two to lease the artists some love. Thanks and have a great weekend!
Thank you for choosing my page Kissy Face alongside these amazing pages. It is an honour!
Thanks so much for choosing one of my layouts and featuring it here. Blesses my heart.
