Finger Pointing – May 9th

Happy Mother’s Day to all you  beautiful mama’s and mama’s to be!  Enjoy this day set aside to recognize you as the SUPER HERO that you are.  In honor of Mother’s Day….I browsed the galleries as a Mother on  Mission.  I wanted to highlight layouts that were about Mom. I hope you enjoy these gorgeous layouts as much I do!

 

SSL On the Line: Sara and Jared by Delisak

Mommy to Be is just the precursor to the journey of motherhood.  Not only is this layout stunning, look at how gorgeous the Mom to Be is, she is glowing.  I truly believe that sometimes less is more in some layouts and this layout is a perfect example of that.  The use of the mask with the subtle paints and script in the background provide the perfect softness to evoke that warm feeling and kindred connectedness to this Mommy in waiting. I love the little accent pieces that were added to document this moment in time.  They are soft and enhance the layout without stealing the limelight from the star of the layout!

Motherhood by Mother Bear

I’m not quite sure there are enough or the right words to describe this simply stunning layout.  I’m already in awe of this artist and can just sit and stare at her designs and still find new things to be amazed by.  Let’s look at this layout….the photo treatment is amazing and the the layering is to definitely swoon worthy.  These photos by themselves are already gorgeous photos!  Somehow the artist managed to weave all the emotion in these photos in the layout.  I feel the placement of the clustering draws your eyes to take in the bond among these 3 beauties from different perspectives.

Finally Spring by wvsandy

I feel like this story is told from a Grandmother’s perspective.  It’s a girls day out and Grandma is the photographer.  The layout captures the fun and candid moment of a mom with her two girls.  It’s photos like this that live on to tell the story years from now.  Look at the detail used in the layout.  Love the subtle uses of the gessos/paints and the gorgeous blending of that large photo. How adorable are those bird houses? They are the perfect accent to this layout and I love the pop of darker pink for the foliage. Look close and you will see we have some out of box action happening…. see that little kick of the foot?  I’m a huge out of box fan and love seeing this in other artist layouts.

May BYOC by MiekSter

I couldn’t resist one more layout capturing a candid moment and highlighting a bond between a mother and child. I love all the artsy goodness, messy threads and grunginess of this page.  The colors are soft in the background with the bolder accent pieces that really work together so well to make this gorgeous black and white photo just stand out!  Yes, Love Grows Here!

I love this layout for so many different reasons.  I love that it’s a stunning heritage page and this artist opted to take a clean and elegant approach to it.  The monochromatic style with just the touch of that blue is just the right amount of color to tie the word art to those gorgeous photos so beautifully.  Such a perfect way to document these 2 moments in time in one layout.

Mother-You are Amazing by pmjames

This large blended photo in the background is the first thing that caught my eye!  It is blended so beautifully and with love.  I love the cluster.  It isn’t a traditional cluster in the sense that we normally see framing or enhancing a photo and that is what I love about it the most, it’s split in the middle as well to allow placement of the word art.  Did you see how “Mother” has paper clipped to it and it’s also softened to blend with the overall layout.  There are so many little details to see here,  even the texture of the washi tape… it’s there, it blends in but yet the depth makes it noticeable.
