Hi everyone, Kate here with my first set of picks for a long, long time! Prepare yourself for a sea of colour and creativity as I share my favourites from the galleries with you today. It’s always such a tough job to narrow it down to just six (my poor browser had so many windows open at one point I lost count!) – I hope you enjoy my picks and that they inspire you to get creative too!

Fourth of July S’mores by mocamom

Fourth of July S’mores by mocamom

This page highlights one of my favourite aspects of scrapbooking: recording those fun, everyday family moments that otherwise all blend together and are so easily forgotten. I love the photo centric style of the page and the use of colour here, the pops of red throughout the page (both in the photos and the elements) are perfectly balanced, while the mixture of posed and more candid shots really tells the story of the family enjoying their s’mores!

I feel that this page reflects the “summer” weather we have been experiencing here in the north England at the moment: rain, rain and a bit more rain. The use of colour here is so beautifully handled, all the soft muted tones contrast beautifully with the stark pops of black. I really like the tension that the crop of the photo and the figure walking out of the frame creates. Here’s hoping it stops raining for both of us soon…

2024 Creative Styles Test by easyeyes4you

I was really drawn to the mix of styles here. I love the combination of the vintage photos and textures in the background, the bold style of the characters on the graphics and the hand-drawn alpha and arrows all mixed together. These quizzes are always fun to take and I love that easyeyes4you decided to record her results in a scrapbook page too!

Telling the stories from the tough times in life isn’t always the easiest, but it can be a cathartic process. Ellen handles the melancholy theme beautifully here with the soft blue palette, the black and white photos and the placement of the tear drop shapes.

Back to a riot of colour again with this cracker of a page! I love the inky rainbow here interspersed with the areas of lighter colour, the black and white line drawings and stitching – they add such a freshness and lightness to the page that speaks of summer sunshine. This page includes another great selection of posed and more candid photos here that really help to tell the story.

My last pick for today is the joyous mish mash of giant photo, blending, stamping, painterly brush marks and a fun little element cluster! It’s a beautifully balanced composition and a page where you find more interesting details every time you look.

I hope you have enjoyed my selection today! Click on the images or the titles to go straight to the page in the original gallery to check out the credits and to leave some love on these fabulous pages.

Until next time!
