Welcome to Gallery Standouts! The purpose of this blog is very simple: to showcase some of the most outstanding digital scrapbooking layouts posted in the galleries, every single day.

This blog started as something much more. I’ll let Lauren, the blog’s founder, explain:

In my two years of digital scrapping I have continually wanted to advance in my skills as an artist. However, it’s been hard to find constructive criticism. That is where the dream of Gallery Standouts began. “To provide an environment of reflection and growth in the art of digital scrapbooking”

What you will find here is a team willing to point you in the direction of techniques and styles to increase your potential as artists. Who are we? Just average gals like you. Nothing special – just the love of the arts. What you will not find here is the generic “oh, that looks cute” comments.

We know we will not please everyone in our endeavor. That’s just not possible. Comments will be moderated and we will encourage participants to post as themselves – not “anon”.

We hope you enjoy the ride. Welcome aboard!

The site initially featured lots of Growth Challenges along with the Finger Pointing posts we know today. After Lauren decided it was time to move on to new ventures, I knew I had to make sure that at least the Finger Pointing side of the blog continued. It had quickly become one of my daily reads and I couldn’t bear to see it go! So I took over the reins and the team have been pointing fingers at outstanding layouts ever since.

The current team stands true to Lauren’s original aims – just a bunch of average gals with a love of the arts and the art of scrapbooking in particular. Some are scrapbook designers, some are digital scrapbookers, some are hybrid scrapbookers, with styles that range from the traditional paper look, through artsy, altered and fantasy.  But we all are united in our desire to share those layouts that stop us in our tracks and make us say, “Oh wow.”

We hope that you enjoy them too.
