Finger Pointing – September 24th

Good evening digi friends! I’ve had the joy of browsing galleries tonight & found some great layouts to share!

Witch Please by geek_girl

I don’t even want to share how long I spend trying to decide if this layout was digital or paper. lol. The artist did such a great job on the shadowing & lighting effects that I honestly can’t tell! I love the white space, the fun embellishments & the stack of layers front & center!

Favilla met a mantis by zinzillah

Wow. The perspective of this photo is SO cool! I love the stroke around the outside, the circle stamps & the journaling in the shape. The journaling from Favilla’s point is super cute too!

Colour outside the lines by Anne PC

I love the composition of this layout- the cut out circles, the painty goodness, that bold fun color pallet & the super cute black & white photo make this one a standout for sure!

Oh my. I just love that sweet photo & how the artist blended it in to the fun wood background paper. The heart & star scatters are super fun as well!

Girl in Field by LidiaG

This layout is such a fun one! I love all the painting & masking! The photo frame draws your eye to the adorable little girl & the embellishments act as perfect anchors!

New Puppy by barbaraj

Oh my goodness… how cute is that pup!?  I love the large blended background photo with the super cute smaller pics- especially those little out of bounds paws! I also love how the artist took a tropical/floral/watercolor type of supplies & made them work perfectly for her doggy layout! Well done!

That’s all for tonight folks! Have a great weekend & please leave some love in the galleries for not just these artists- but all the other amazing talent we have around this digiworld!

Finger Pointing – August 24TH

Hello digiland! I’ve started a new work from home part-time gig that is taking up WAY more time than I anticipated! I almost forgot I’m today’s blogger! Browsing galleries this afternoon was such a nice break from reading dental insurance benefit breakdowns! lol! A few that caught my eye today are:

Magnolia by profolly

How gorgeous is that large background photo! I love the pinks & the blue sky! The beautiful paints & simple elements/title are just perfect!

8_22_19_2 by lauriezyskind

I LOVE the info-graphic feel of this layout! The map in the background with the pop out photos of the beautiful waterfalls, plus those cute little embellishments are so fun! The artist’s title work is superb!

Sassy Clint by ClaireG

I laughed out loud when reading the journaling about Clint Catwood. So cute! I love the hexagons, the super textured background paper & the fun styles on the title!

When summer ends by anny-libelle

I was initially drawn to those beautifully blended photos in the background. Upon closer inspection- I love the sea grass & the beach ellies scattered within the perfectly shadowed clusters!

Enjoy the Moment by yvetteweber

I love the color scheme with dramatic oranges & greens! The paper strips are a super cool way to display fun papers! I also like the cascading butterflies falling off the page & the way the eye is drawn down throughout the layout!

Kelsey’s Birthday Gifts by Glori2

What a beautiful birthday layout! I love with the photo strips- a ton of photos can be shown without appearing too busy! I love the space within the strip for the journaling as well as the framing on top to showcase a specific photo! Perfect papers & clusters round this layout out perfectly!

That’s all for today folks! The galleries are hopping & so much beautiful stuff to look through! Take a browse- especially if you need a ‘break’ from your work from home job! 😉

How cool is that blended photo? Gorgeous! I love the map background & the fun watercolor paints! I love how the artist chose to showcase that blended photo, but also included the fabulous original with the simple embellishments. Add in the perfect title & this is a gallery standout for sure!

August2020_ElifSahin_challenge-copy by flowersgal

I’m always a sucker for a doggy layout! This one is well deserved for finger pointing! The color scheme, the fun journaling & the simple design are perfect. However- I just LOVE how the artist had a couple of the photos with the ‘out of bounds’ extracted pup! So much fun & visual interest!

This layout makes me want to go to this tour! I love the barn quilt photos!!! Such a cool idea! I love how the artist ‘quilted’ her layout together too! The blocking works so well with the photos & the fun journaling! I like the added map of the tour as well! I think I need to plan a trip to North Carolina!

Cuddles with Lexie by cindys732003

Here’s another dog layout that caught my eye! While the dog & the pics are crazy cute- I was really drawn to the diamond shapes on this layout! The neutral color scheme & fun embellishments work perfectly with the cute title & fun paw badge!

mystery-box-aug.jpg by oldenmeade

I have literally studied this layout for longer than I’d like to admit. It’s SO cool! The droplets on the spiderweb photo is stunning just in itself. Those silhouettes just take this to a whole new level! SO much fun!

Thanks so much for browsing my favorites today! I hope everyone has a happy & healthy week!

Finger Pointing – July 30th

Hello! I’m finally here to share some gallery goodness with you today! I’ve had a ton on my to-do list and thankfully have accomplished everything so far! Without further ado-

Strider’s First Birthday by sandra-9663

How adorable is this pup?! I love how the artist used the #1 as the journal spot. The single balloon, stitched balloon string and how beautifully she blended her photo into the sky watercolor paper is just perfect! Happy birthday Strider!

TLP-XmasInJuly-chalenge18 by Jazz2000

I just love how the artist used a Christmas kit/color scheme for this fun summertime adventure layout! The title work is fabulous with all those patterned papers! The photo of the boys cracked me up- totally captured youth in the mountains!

Pier Drone Shot by Janytime

This is probably one of the coolest perspective photos I’ve ever seen! I love how the artist used the subtle gradient paper to match the gorgeous water/sand. She perfectly used white space with simple journaling & the one starfish embellishment. Gorgeous!

I Woof U by apscrapper

I’m such a sucker for doggy layouts! This one does not disappoint! I love the blocking with the stitches, the fun patterned papers, the adorable journal card & photo! The photo filter ties everything together perfectly!

Oh So Blessed by dotcomkari

WOW! This layout jumped RIGHT out at me in the gallery- the silhouette of the doggo is so beautiful with the sunset behind. AND THEN, she goes & just beautifies the photo even more with the fun floral clusters, stamps & ephemera! So beautiful!

tbe by marnel

Last but definitely not least- The Big E by marnel is SO cool. I seriously spent some time dissecting this layout trying to discern if it was digital or paper! Her shadows and lighting effects are spot on & the painty, messy goodness just makes it seem like her personal art journal. I LOVE the photo strips and the cascading tickets!

Goodnight all! Have a great weekend & stay cool- it’s supposed to be in the upper 90’s all week/weekend here in the inland northwest! Please give these gals some love!

Finger Pointing – July 13th

Hello fellow digiscrappers! Happy Monday! I’m here to share some beauties from digiland! I’ve perused the galleries & found some gems for you today!

This is another super cute doggy layout! I love the postage stamped frame & all the fun stamps/doodles! The linear composition is perfect & the fun perfectly shadowed ellies round out a great layout!

Argentine Pass by isDK

How cool is this double layout!? It looks like a magazine spread! I love the photo effects/filters-sketched & painted! The Journaling is perfect and the composition is just spot on!

Dog vs Grandpa by TraceyM

I love when designers scrap with their own creations! Tracey’s layout is fabulous! Perfect themed elements, fun clusters & beautiful composition! I LOVE the heritage photo (complete with vintage color/filter?) & story! Doggies come & go in our lives, and it’s fun to see a vintage layout featuring a beloved family pet!

I guess I’m a sucker for dog layouts these days! Maybe because we got a pandemic puppy? Maybe I’m all obsessed with my own 2 doggies? Or maybe because doggies are such a good distraction during this crazy pandemic? Who knows. Regardless, please give these layouts some love in the galleries today! Have a great week!

Finger Pointing – June 12th

Hello hello! I didn’t even realize that I was totally picking outdoors/vacation layouts until I was about half through my picks! Hilarious! I’m thinking that means that I desperately need a vacation. Most of our summer plans have been canceled- but the hubby & I were talking about taking a road trip somewhere sorta close to home just to do SOMETHING this summer. Fingers crossed we’re able to get out of town for a few! Any of these destinations featured would work for me! 😉 😉

Pandemic Wanderlust by isDK

Oh my gosh there are SO many things I love about this layout. First of all- the one giant photo broken into individual frames & spread across a double layout is just SO cool! The stitching & the super fun bead title is perfect. I’m seriously suffering from Pandemic Wanderlust & this layout might get me through a bit more!

Our Little World by janedee

These gorgeous photos jumped out at me first in the gallery. The fog on the water & through the trees is so beautiful! Add in those adorable little birdie pics & this layout is perfect! I love the circular bird frame & the simple embellishments. I totally agree with the author- what a peaceful, relaxing place!

Dusky Beauty by msbrad

I just love how well the photo matches the digital supplies the artist used! The blues & oranges are just beautiful! I also liked how the photo is cut assymetrically & the floral clusters draw your eye around the page. The painty, glittery border perfectly frames this gorgeous layout!

Mabry Mill by nun65

I seriously thought this photo was a painting at first. How gorgeous is that old mill? I love the journaling of the history. I’m a total sucker for wood backgrounds as well as all the fun floral clusters! I also really like the journal card quote & the mixed alpha title.

San Diego Beach by BrightEyes

It’s official- I need a beach vacation on my calendar! The adorable large beach photo is what stood out in the gallery with this layout. I love how the artist blended/framed it to the background paper. The perfectly shadowed themed elements & the smaller framed photos perfectly round out this fun beach layout!

Adventures by tiffany scraps

I love Tiffany’s composition on this fun layout. The blocking of the photos & large journal card are so interesting to the eye! Her simple, perfect choice for embellishments as well as that great tree background paper make this layout pop out from the gallery! I too need to find some beautiful places to go…

Now it looks like I need to go camping, schedule a beach vacation as well as some mountain hiking! Thankfully all of those things aren’t too far from home here in the PNW. Hopefully we get to ‘get lost’ this Summer!

Finger Pointing – May 25th

Hello digiscrappers! Happy Memorial Day! Ours was a bit different this year due to the pandemic. A little quieter than usual (no guests this year) but Memorial Day is always the first hurrah of Summer at the lake house! We had a great weekend with just the inlaws & managed to do a lot of cleanup of the property & the beach. Of course, we always honor the original meaning of Memorial Day as well- remembering those who gave all for us.

Memorial Day by Miki

What a better way to start my gallery picks today than with this beauty!? I love the non-traditional flag & all the stars all blended. The title is super fun with the varying fonts. I LOVE the saluting silhouette & the quotes/scribbles.

New Skillz by ClaireG

Girl’s got skillz for sure! I tried cutting my husband & son’s hair (thankfully just a buzz cut) and it is NOT as easy as it looks! The super cute selfies, the fun paint & scatters as well as the fab journaling make this layout a standout! You go girl!

Boating on the Lake by jaye

Having just spent a few days at the lake, this layout jumped out at me from the gallery. I LOVE that background paper (photo?) blended into the wood grain! I love the circular photo- almost like you were looking out a porthole window! The wave stitches & the nautical bits & pieces tie everything together perfectly!

MAY CL STYLE by nhudao

How adorable is that baby! I lvoe the photostrip frame & the simple perfect embellishments. I love the polka dot background paper & the pops of green & blue. The white space & spot on shadowing make this a standout!

Typography Challenge by Ursula

I’ve studied this layout for longer than I should admit & still cannot tell if this is just the most beautiful photograph or a painting? Whatever photo treatments the artist used are just amazing. The lighting on their faces, yet not being able to see them is SO interesting. I also LOVE how everything is blended and the inky frame around the layout. She also chose the perfect color of embellishments as well as the great use of the alpha in the title.

Memorial Day by cfile

And the perfect layout to end my pics- Memorial Day by cfile. The photos of the flags at the tombstones just gives me the feels. I love the framed photo with the blended photo into the paper. I love the simple embellishments & the non-traditional (read: not red/white/blue) color scheme. The journaling is perfect- those grave markers are her family- makes me even more proud & thankful for their service.

While different than ‘normal’- I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day & thank you to all our service members who have sacrificed for our great country. Today is a great day to reflect & chose how we as a country want to come out of these dark days- I say we band together to support each other & come out stronger & healthy! Be kind, have grace.
