Finger Pointing – October 2, 2026

Hi there once again, Carol here (carollee in the digi world) and coming to you from downunder where our Spring weather has flipped and turned quite cool again.  So a good day to stay in and sew and scrap and knit, what a productive day.  Now to go check out the galleries and get me all inspired.

Where is Anja? By Meliora

My word, this sounds like an interesting challenge.  The artist has really set the scene with that mapped background paper.  Looks like a terrific hunt for the prize.  Great cluster of photographs, text messages, tickets, and other elements.  Loving the footprint stamps, terrific.  And that folded Alpha ANJA just laying across the top reminds me of the folds in a well worn map.

You Were Never Meant to Make Sense to Everyone by FayetteT

One of the most fortunate and greatest things is to have a partner in life that makes you laugh.  Absolutely adore this page celebrating this lovely quirky fun loving man.  A pacman suit, fantastic.   The two frames with photos 3 years apart a testament to his cause.  All the snippet words are terrific with a fabulous use of rich colour and that background paper you’ve selected has me swooning.  Hooray for a little weird in our lives.

Escape and Exhale by sucali

I do declare I see a koala on there, and taking a hunch that might be the Melbourne skyline in the other photo?  I’m really liking the orange background paper mimicking that glow of the sun.  Terrific swirly word element leading you down a path to the tree as well as that lovely stamped magical splat under the photo.  Really really like this page.

Scraplift Chain-Flying Horse Diner by shannonr

Okay so this page had me at hello!  How exciting all the reds and aquas, it’s just so eye-catching.  A terrific use of photographs of the diner and traveller blends fills the page so beautifully.  This is one place I’d really like to see, one of the best parts of the scrapping community is getting to see so many places from across the world in travel pages.

First Day of School 1962/63 by Anke Turco

Oh wow!  Everyone is going to read this artist’s journalling and go try it now I bet.  What a great use of AI.   Firstly that true life photograph is just darling, loving the school elements to anchor that photo in.  Then the Chat GPT’s cleaner presentation of that old photo, colourised as well, just flipping brilliant.    With the wooden background and some chalk drawing on the wood, this is just a fabulous piece of work.  Bravo.

092026JC-Season by AnotherAmanda

A fantastic photoless page where the journalling is the star.  Firstly love that big papery PLEASE.  Fantastic.  Looks like the artist has had a busy season.  The typed font works well and is clear to read, so with that corner to corner shape of the title and the journalling, it still gives way for white space allowing the page to breath.  Beautifully done.  PS:  I’m just over the cold downunder, so I’ll gladly look after summer for you for a while.  🙂

Well I’m wrapping it up once again, off to schedule this for the morning for the northern hemisphere so I can see it live before I head off to a mosaic day course I’m doing.    If you’ve enjoyed the pages that I’ve chosen, please do go and click on the page title/artist and leave a comment or two for these brilliant artists who share their talent with us.

Bye for now and keep scrapping, Carol.

Finger Pointing – September 22, 2026

Spring has definitely sprung downunder where I live, the blossom is out and it’s so pretty.  Hi, it’s Carol here (carollee in the scrapping world).  After being outside for a little bit, I’m now in here with a cuppa by my side and I’ve been enjoying having a trip around the galleries, just loving what I’ve seen so here’s my picks.

Departure by svanderhaegen

Well I feel like I may be looking at the inside of a galactic passport here for travels into outerspace.  What a mystical page.  That night sky with the sprinkling of stars, the stamped book, and trip elements, it’s such a delightful photoless page.  Collect adventures not things – no truer words were spoken.

September Memories by snojewel

Loving that large background photograph which really sets the scene here.  What a memory the artist has created for the children here to look back on.   Taking the colour from the corn, the September stands out nicely and the elements tucked in and around the page and photographs fill in gaps just nicely.  I bet the children love this page.

You got this by ErinR

Oh darling girl, what precious journalling.  The start of a school year can be tough for the littlies.  Beautiful photograph, almost of trepidation heading off to school with her Miss Kitty bag.  Bless.  Loving the B&W photograph amongst the gentle colour pallete of blues and lilacs.  And that title is ringing out YOU GOT THIS.  Thinking all the good thoughts for her.

A.Scrap a photoless page by Loretta Habig

I really enjoyed reading the journalling here, I don’t know if this is what it is planned for, but this would be a great opening page for a travel album.  It sets the scene with the map, what a trip!  The $’s spent sure do add up, but it’s all part of the adventure.   I also like the font used, it’s like it’s been written in the artist’s hand.  Fantastic trip and page.

But First Coffee by sucali

A wonderfuly stark graphic page, could be an advertisement in a glossy magazine.  Loving all that white space all around the centric design.  A great mix of type, handwritten caps and a signature Coffee.  Wonderful.

You Have My Heart by myssp

Darling photograph, gorgeous shades of pinks and greens, and so tactile.  Great shadow work.  Plus a lovely triangle created – from the photo to cluster at the top, then down to the title of the page.  Really really well thought out page.

Well that’s it from me, off to schedule this for the late afternoon for the northern hemisphere, for when I’ll just be getting up in your tomorrow, crazy upside down world we live in.    If you’ve enjoyed the pages that I’ve chosen, please do go and click on the page title/artist and leave a comment or two for these fantastic artists.

Bye for now and keep scrapping, Carol.

Finger Pointing – September 3, 2026

Hello hello, Carol here (carollee in the scrapping world).  I’ve just got back from a lovely lunch up with some of my OG workmates from 41 years ago.  Met at a little country pub and talked until the cows came home.  It was fabulous and I can’t wait to scrap it.  Do you ever feel like that, just know you’re in a very scrappable moment and can’t wait to do so.  Love this craft so much.

So without further ado, I’m off to the galleries.

Let the Earth breath by annachris70

What a way to find inspiration and turn it into a spectacular page like this.  Layer upon layer upon layer, all perfectly shadowed, don’t you just want to touch the screen and feel the layers.  A really beautiful colour palette and really enjoying looking at all the detail on this page.  Bravo.

Miss You by MemawScraps

I get it, I really do, there is a such a transition when a furbaby passes.   I do love the joy though in this page, the colours, the beautiful photos, the almost comic appeal of it, I bet Tigey was a character.  I hope Tigey’s little mate there is coping without his kitty friend.  Sincere condolences, but what a joyful page you have created to celebrate his life.

Above-All-Else by StoryKeeperBeth

What a delightful page using such a gentle, serene palette.   Loving a page with a story, huge tick from me there.  With the title spreading across the page in that linear fashion with the circles, both the horizontal as well as the vertical line are pointing right at that precious photograph.  Also a mention to be made on all that lovely brush work you’ve done.

Calm and Tender by 6grand

How easy it would have been to keep that photo large on the page, but here it creates so much more impact small like this surrounded by all the most perfect colours by way of papers and elements.   Really love the border work you’ve done also.   This artist has had a real considered mind when constructing this page, it’s really beautiful.

San Francisco 2026 by OKate

Now this is an exciting page.  Love the depth of that blue, and the extension of the photograph seemingly melting down the page.  Together with that brushwork and the scant few elements which was just enough, it’s a really great travel page and awesome memory for the artist.

1986 by Yvonne55

Well doesn’t this give a perfect vibe from the 80’s.  The colours, the shapes and that fabulous 1986 title makes me think of the tracks of a record.     Even with that front paper askew like that gives me thoughts of an album cover.  Great way to document their meeting of where their love story started.  Fun fun fun.

Well that’s it from me, it’s been a big day and I’ll be chilling tonight for sure.  If you’ve enjoyed the pages that I’ve chosen, please do go and click on the page title/artist and leave a comment or two for these fantastic artists.

Cheerio for now and keep scrapping, Carol.
