Finger Pointing – August 19, 2026

Hi there, Carol here (carollee in the scrapping world).  Coming to you from winter downunder and it’s raining cats and dogs out there at the moment, so loud that it’s pounding on the roof.  A good day to stay inside for sure.  A bit of scrapping perhaps and a tour around the galleries.

Strength by SweetChar

I immediately resonated with this page, my stepson did weights and I remember for one of my birthdays his gift was to give me a flex much like this! Ha.  Firstly great flex.  Secondly I love how this bunting coming fromt the bulging set of barbells has come about.  Fab use of word tags and lifting focussed elements, and that all important date I like to see.  And great alpha for that title STRENGTH.  Really enjoyed looking at this page.

I really like the style of this artist, all so clean and linear.  And that photo, I mean really, it’s fantastic.    My eye has darted across the page from the bottom left straight to the action on the right.  Great colour scheme and particularly like that hello summer vellum.  And ahoy there Baxter, you are living your best life.

Christmas Wreath by Britgirl

I really have to bow to the organisation here, getting a Christmas card done and ready for printing.  I’m all for that.  As for the list of credits of items the artist has used, I’m about to faint.  Absolutely phenomenal use of elements, the more you look the more you see – ribbons flags, buttons, flowers, leaves, a touch of shadow work, not overly done, letting each item shine brightly.  Absolutely fantastic.

Blue Reverie by nibylandia-11

Loving the denim goodness as background paper.  And what a great way to highlight a photograph with the touch of pink, popped into the jeans pocket.  Such a lovely addition of lace, buttons, floral items, both over the top of the pocket and tucked in.  Great work.

A Bunny Chase by DKStoneman

I am so in awe of this artist and the pages created.  Loving the paper which looks like a mixed media collage, the torn strips and fantastic shadow work making the layers really come alive.   The additions of the bunny in this every day garden scene is just plain fun.  Love it.

Challenge #5–Tic-Tac-Toe-2006-08-pequot-#3 by JeanneMN

Ahhhh the colours, the colours, the colours, what an exciting page detailing the growth of this young man and his love of boats.   Loving the splatters on the background paper, makes me think of water splashing.  There’s such movement in the page, and I know it is a template, but what a way for taking that template and really making it her own.  Brilliant.

Well that’s it from me, I’ll schedule the post now to go live when I wake up in the morning downunder.  I hope you’ve enjoyed the choices I’ve made and if you like what I’ve chosen, please do go and click on the page title/artist and leave a comment or two for these fantastic artists who, along with the rest of the digi scrap community, never ceases to inspire.

Cheerio for now, Carol.

Finger Pointing – August 2, 2026

Hi there, Carol here.  It’s been the most stunning Winter’s day downunder where I live and I took a chance to head down the coast and visit my brother and ended up sitting at a little café in a beachside town enjoying the winter sun and sipping a coffee.  How decadent.  Now back at home and ready for a tour through the galleries, despite feeling like a nap about now!  Here I go …

What had me clicking on this page is to check out all those glorious layers, each one shadowed slightly differently depending on their position on the page and the number of layers below them.  That shows such an attention to detail.  Lots to look at and a complimentary palette of muted colours, just lovely.

Seas the Day : veer

How glorious is that background paper, and such perfect foil for the theme of the page.  A fabulous beach shot, wonderful seaside colours, and all the awesome seaworthy elements.   Wonderful.

This Day by tracermajig

Adore!  So much to look at here with the photo and journalling the star of the show.  Particularly like the pops of red with the ribbon and hearts, the photo frame askew over the photo and that wooden cloud stitched to the page.    Also notice the & tied with a bow.  So much to see and take in.

Watercolor-Practice by pagefrocks

My goodness the watercolor is amazing, what a great photo of your way of relaxing on vacation.  Loving the greens you’ve used to highlight and compliment the painting.  It’s all so delicate and I really love the font you’ve chosen to journal, it’s like you’ve finished your painting and then taken pen to paper to remember the moment.

Wow, just wow.   The treatments on that graph type paper look great but check out the journalling, that’s what got me here.  A silhouette of the young woman with the journalling making the shape.  That’s so cool and makes for a really outstanding page.

Questions by chai

I’m just loving these type pages, wondering, musing, putting the artists thoughts out there.  Will be so good to look back on in the future.   The B&W photos work so well with these delicate colours used.   The whole page is almost paper like, with the random stitching holding it together.  Beautifully done.

So I started this blog post last night and continued it this morning (my time) which is your yesterday in the northern hemisphere.  Time zones can get so confusing!  I hope you’ve enjoyed the choices I’ve made and if you like what I’ve chosen, please do go and click on the page title/artist and leave a comment or two for these fantastic artists who have shared their pages and their hearts with us.

Cheerio for now, Carol.

Finger Pointing – July 20, 2026

Hello hello it’s Carol here back for another tour through the galleries, then to do a spot of scrapbooking myself.  Looking forward to it after going through my photos from a trip away to Melbourne for the weekend.   Here I go …

Pick 5, challenge G – create a diagonal flow by Anke Turco

Loving the colours and how all the goodness just sweeps across this page.  So many delicate touches with the choices of brushes and perfectly sized elements.  The small thick frame with the waterfront picture inside draws my eye right into the scene, such a beautiful page.

Firstly the perspective of that photograph is terrific, such concentration.  With such a colourful photograph the background grey is perfect, it really makes the photo subject pop.  The faded block brushwork at the back is perfect for the page with a feel of puzzle block pieces.  A touch of colour and geometrics, makes for such a lovely page.  Simple at first glance, and yet not, everything so well placed.

 Home Body by fruitysuet

Oh I’m hearing you, I’m quite the homebody as well.  Give me my crafts and chocolate and I am happy as a clam.   Firstly the colours you’ve used here are just delightful.  I’m loving the four quadrants and a fantastic cluster with the round tag as the O in the title HOME.   Fantastic page.

2024-beach-at-eureka-one-word-challenge by easyeyes4you

Doesn’t this page evoke a cold windswept feeling at the beach where you just feel alive.  I adore the rugged feel of the page.  That great title with a painted look to it, the scratchy distress of the background photograph, and the mix of the frames, it all just works so well and pretty spectacular.

Daydream Believer by Electra

I’m just going to say how much I enjoyed your journalling and what a spectacular day you have spent.  What a great idea for a page just documenting everything you did almost written in a stream of consciousness.  The photograph treatment is utterly fantastic and loving all the pastels you’ve used.

What a sunny colourful page, adore the yellow background, goes so well with B&W elements as well as the B&W photograph.  And I love that JOY shadowed to see the layer of paper below the top paper, just awesome.  Adding the scattered flowers and the\ word strips, makes for a fun and whimsical page.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the choices I’ve made, I’ve chosen a lot of different styles.  There’s such talent and excitement in the galleries, it always blows my mind.   If you like what I’ve chosen, please do go and click on the page title and artist and leave a comment or two.   The artists will really be chuffed to see someone comment on their page.

Cheerio for now, Carol.
