Finger Pointing – November 19th

No matter where you are in the world, there is always something to be thankful for.  As we are gearing up for Thanksgiving in North America, I thought I’d kick off the week with things to be thankful for, Gallery Standout style!

Things to be thankful for:

1.  Granddaughters.

Hello Autumn by conniemiles

Family is the heart and soul of many scrapbookers.  This tribute page to Connie’s granddaughter Autumn is stunning.  From the beautiful photography to the cascading clusters, it’s easy to fall in love with Autumn.

2.  Mushrooms.

Early Autumn 2 by Dunkie

I’m always on the hunt for mushrooms.  They play such a vital role in the cycle of life.  Since the fruiting bodies are picky, requiring the right humidity and temperature to pop, finding them is magical!  This page full of beautiful clusters with the mushroom focal point is magical too!  I especially like the cluster at the bottom of the page with the scarecrow.

3.  Historical Parks

Fort William by Mary-lynne

I am such a fan of living history museums and historical parks!  It’s amazing to think how people once lived.  Each museum and park pay tribute to the past and human culture.  I often find myself wondering who and how I would have been were I born in 1775 instead of 1975.

This layout is such a lovely tribute to Fort William.  And the use of the red flower is brilliant – the eyes keep bouncing from the red in the skirt to the flower.  What a great way to lead the eyes across the page.

4. Nighttime Magic

Nuit Magique by Migueline

The sun goes down and my brain turns off.  I wish I could be more cognizant at night – because the night is full of magic!  From the stars to the moon, to fireflies in the summer, to the owl’s hoot and crickets chirping – nuit magique!  This layout is pretty magical too!  It captures the essence of a lovely moon light night.

5.  A Beautiful Day

The Good Stuff by Pmjames

A beautiful day is always something to be thankful for.  And this layout makes my heart go pitter patter!  One thing I love about photography is that it makes us pause, even if for a moment.  And in that moment, observe the beauty that surrounds us.

6.   For Everyday Things

AJ Week 3 by Vickyday

Everyday Things can become so commonplace, that we forget how wonderful they actually are.  But that first cup of coffee in the morning and our digital scrapbooking communities, they are definitely things to be thankful for.

Wishing you a week full of light, love, and thankfulness!

Till next time,

Lisa (Armygrl)

Finger Pointing – November 18, 2023

Hi everyone,

I hope you have had a great weekend so far. I have been out doing all the things today, including having an early dinner with our good friends.

I like to wait until a bit later on a Saturday to browse the galleries, gives everyone a chance to settle into the weekend and get to scrapping lol!

Kiana – A True Original

I am a big fan of Kiana’s pages. They are always so colourful and as a lover of colour I always admire her use of it. I love the flow of this page and the awesome use of paint. Her shadows are perfect and the circular photo fits so well in the big cheerful cluster.

Omlialie – LO595 Winter2011

This is absolutely stunning! The dark background just leads your eye to all the bright photos and elements. I love the skates dangling off of the branch and her use of the paint and the snowflakes is amazing.

*Sylvia* – Sierra de gaddor

I love the snowy feel of this page and the story behind the photos. The shadows are perfect and the muted palette with the pops of pink is lovely.

Im44west – Postcard

I love the softness of this page. The layered papers with a small amount of elements is great and the white frame makes the photo really stand out.

Seattle Sherri – Baby

This is amazing by Sherri! I love the burst effect here and the wonderful neutrals. As always her cluster is amazing, the shadows are perfect and so full of little elements and ribbon. I really love the stitches in the background.

I want to end today with a special mention for Evelyn and her page. She is battling cancer, she is an avid scrapper, and just an all-round wonderful person. I can’t remember a time in my scrapping journey when Evelyn hasn’t left me a wonderful, complimentary comment on my pages. We do not know each other IRL, but I feel that we would get along fabulously if we did! This page from Evelyn has so much emotion and the B&W photo of her new look is beautifully fragile but shows the steel in her character for taking it and sharing it. I love the grungy feel of the page, softened with the beautiful cluster.

EvelynD2 – Peace

I hope you will show these wonderfully talented scrappers some love, enjoy the rest of your weekend and if you are in the US, have a Happy Thanksgiving next week.

Claire x

Finger Pointing ~ November 17, 2023

As I started to browse the gallery, I kept clicking on pages that I liked and they all had to do with dogs! Every single one of them! I guess I was meant to have a theme to this week, eh?

As always, if you have some time, please leave the ladies some lovin’ on their pages! I know it will mean a lot to them!

Feb Getaway by CoriK

I just fell in love with all these adorable photos of her doggie! She sure did get the money shot with that one on the bottom! I like how she used a lot of photos of her dog to show what she did on her vacation. I love the word art at the bottom and the way she stapled the journaling onto the page.

Sweetie by scrappinnewbie

One of my favorite doggies are King Charles Cavalier Spaniels, so you KNOW I had to click in! I really love the piles of paper strips and the color scheme is so beautiful! Her clusters are perfectly shadowed and placed in wonderful alignment with each other.

Autumn Dogs by KAPOH

What a gorgeous color palette she chose for this page!! I love the beautiful trees in the background and the adorable photos in a perfect cluster of three. The hanging leaves are a perfect touch. I just want to walk into this picture!!

Challenge 6 by Veer

Charlie is one of the most adorable doggies I have ever seen!!!!!! I adore beagles, and I was giggling as I looked at this photo! I like the out of bounds feel with the frame placed on top of the blended photo of Charlie, and the cute tiny photo in the midst of the gorgeous purple flowers! I love the textural feel of her background too – with the text and the lines.

One of the Family by MugShotMomma

This page is so full of delicious dogginess!!! I really love the way she made a wreath of dog products and word art that are so perfect for this page! The paw prints around it are a perfect touch, and Riley is one handsome boy!!

Best Friend by jillianutrup

Oh boy, don’t you just want to get your hands on this gorgeous pup’s neck and just give him all the kisses you have??? What an adorable huggable doggie!!! I really like that she left this photo very large and just let us see the cuteness! The background paper is perfect and I like that she used the flowers to separate the two parts. Also, the little photo peeking out and the paw prints are adorable too!

Well, I hope you enjoyed this walk down digi-doggy lane!! I hope you liked it as much as I did posting it for you!! I’ll catch you in another week or so!

Finger Pointing – November 16th

Hello lovely scrappers!  Cheryl here to bring you today’s picks, on this sixteenth day of November.  This year is just streaming along, isn’t it?  I can hardly believe that we’re in the middle of November.  I had a fine time visiting the different galleries and I hope you enjoy the picks that I have for you today.  Let’s get started, shall we?

My first pick for today is Sarapullka’s Thoughts by Su_sanne.  I just adore this black and white ATC (Artist’s Trading Card) and the big white flower really takes center stage for the artsy bits and the title.  Very beautiful and a great start to my post for today!

My next pick is November Music Challenge  by Jody.  Not only is this one of my favorite songs, it’s scrapped so beautifully!  I just love the “grunge” look, with the man in the background and the words in the foreground. The big plaid bow is such a nice added touch, too.

Next is Can You See Me? by one of our own bloggers, Pachimac (Susie).  I love the picture in the sunglasses and the word strips attached to it.  This page has so much meaning and the words “hide” are perfectly placed.  The blending, clustering and artsy bits all combine, with the pictures, to make this the perfect page.

Next is Above by Stefanie.  The old saying “less is more” definitely applies to this beautiful page.  The big photo scene is perfectly paired with the clustering of elements and word art up at the top of the page.  This page just works in every way for me.

Next is Cold and Frosty by Ranchcreations.  What wonderful photos and I love the way they’re arranged on the page.  The background, with the snowflakes, the wintery elements and the frosty border all make this such a wonderful winter page.

My last pick for today is All My Dogs and Cats by Yam.  I fell in love with this page the minute I saw it.  What a great idea to scrap so many pets on one page.  I love the individual pictures and the big green border really sets this page off.   What a great finish to my post for today.

That will be it for me today.  I sure enjoyed visiting the different galleries.  If you get a chance, you can leave some love for these artists.  Just click on the name of each project, to go to their gallery post.

Til next time,

Cheryl
