Finger Pointing – December 16th

Hi all, and happy Thursday!! I wanted to take a minute to let you all know that this will be our last post for this year. We will be taking a short break through the first week in January so that our team can spend time with family and friends for the holidays. I also want to thank you all for your support throughout this year. I know it’s been difficult for many, including members of our amazing team, but it’s always so wonderful to have this place to come to where creativity, inspiration, and love shines. And finally, I want to thank the incredible ladies who make up the GSO team. We are all volunteers who simply have a love for this community and a desire to bring some added joy to it. Most of us have careers and family outside of this blog and it takes very special people to keep showing up with enthusiasm and taking the time to hopefully bring some added light and love into our corner the world. I hope you will all join me in thanking them for their time and passion for this craft!

And now on to my picks for this evening 🙂

jPA-Naughty List by justpattyanne

What a fun page! The photo perspective is superb and I love the extraction. That huge cluster over to the right is awesome.

RF-HappyJolly.jpg by carolwenxin

This page snagged my attention in the gallery today. The papers are layered and shadowed perfectly. I really like how the brushes and elements in the background mimic a tree. And then down to that gorgeous cluster with the black and white photo that goes along great with the kit’s color scheme.

122021SLC-Bold by AnotherAmanda

I was immediate attracted to this page with the light background and the dark, blended photo. The brushes all around the edges adds a really nice touch. The heartfelt journaling and curious look on his face are just perfect.

December 1 2021 by Marisa Lerin

I just love pages that look like a book and this one is looking good. Such fun clips, layers and photos.

Dreamer by Anita

The texture on this page is very eye catching. The blended photo looks as if it’s been painted on. The brushes, stamps and stitches add the perfect touch.

Santa by geoleoan

This one is just amazing. The photos are so cute and the bright Christmas colors just pop off the white background. Fun clustering and layering too.

Well, that’s it for me today and my last post of the year. If you get a chance, please go leave some love in the galleries. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season! And until next time, happy scrapping!

Finger Pointing – December 12th

It’s so hard to believe how fast December has already flown by! It’s always such a busy month. I am taking the last two weeks of the month off of work, so I’m really looking forward to wrapping things up and getting to knock some stuff off my to-do list! Plus it’s always nice to do a little reset.

Finger Pointing – December 11th

Hey there everyone!

Can you believe that this is my last GSO post for the year!! How quickly has 2021 gone? I hope that it has been a better year for you all, it has been a really good year for me and mine and I’m still basking in the joy that was going home to London and hugging my parents.

alinalove – 2021

This just leapt out at me! Such a pretty way to capture all that 2021 meant to her on one page. I love the messy stitching and the little elements and clusters here and there. The muted colour palette makes me lean into the photos. And I love the stamped title, perfect.

eve11ne – Ho Ho Ho

I love everything about this, the awesome fun photo and the most amazing cluster ever! So jam-packed full of Christmas goodies, I can’t stop looking at it and there are so many things to find. It must have taken Eve ages to create and I love how the tree anchors everything and it feels like the elements are part of the tree. I haven’t stopped smiling since I saw this.

HeatherH – Snow Fun

I’m a big fan of fancy backgrounds! I love what Heather has done here, candy cane stripes but with the blue snowflake paper to suit her theme instead. Love that. The scattered elements and that big title are wonderful and I really like all the little pieces of tape anchoring the elements.

Angels – Night Before

Being a cat momma, this totally leapt out at me LOL. Christmas Trees seem to encourage naughty cat behaviour. I love how nestled into the tree he or she is! I love the giant cluster with the Elf legs showing, so fun, totally fits the theme of naughtiness! I like the fact that this very Christmassy layout has a lot of black and white in there too, giving it a modern twist on the Christmas colours.

Brenda Roberts – Remember this Forever

This is just stunning! I love the use of the black background, making that gorgeous flowing cluster just pop off of the page. The glittery elements, mixed with pink and blue elements are wonderful and full of so much detail, perfect colour choices for the super cute photo. The little bit of white paint behind the photo just brings it alive even more.

mrivas – Happy New Year

The photo grabbed my attention, so happy and full of joy I love it! The page is stunning, love the palette of gold, cream and black, used in a variety of tones. The glittery title is fabulous and perfect for a New Year page. I love the little squares secured with all that messy stitching. The little splatters of paint are perfectly placed beside the bigger card and photo. The whole thing just makes me happy!

That’s all from me today. I do hope you will go and show these talented scrappers some love. And have a look through the galleries, they are alive with joy right now, I guess the Christmas season does that to us all!

See you in 2022, be safe, well and enjoy the time you get to spend with your loved ones.

Finger Pointing – December 8

“You should never drink wine and wrap presents. Also, if anyone gets a remote control for Christmas, I’m gonna need that back.”

Disclaimer #1: This didn’t happen to me.
Disclaimer #2: I did, however, wrap my pen into a gift today.
Disclaimer #3: Twice.

For anyone who needs a little break from flying reindeer and jingle bells (raises my hand), you’ll notice my choices today are not Christmassy. But they are beautiful!

Gum Flowers by JodyT

My first pick really pops out at you from the galleries! The watercolor floral embellishments are perfect together with the cool masked photo. I love how she used the frame and the way she added the tiny title. Lovely!

Just Have to Read by honeyandcheese

I love the simplicity of my next gallery stand-out. The font she chose for her journaling is perfect, and creating three separate journaling spots is so clever. The fun paper strips help make this layout a best seller!

Here and Now by huyentrang43

First, those pics are adorable! Her tiny clusters are so cute. I love how she added the chevrons. She finished it off with an awesome title and just a couple pretty paper strips. Great page!

Philanthropy by Kimberly27

My next pick is a lovely journaling page. This artist’s story is perfectly highlighted with cute ellies and cool paint. I love the colors she chose, and that little framed raccoon is wonderful!

Well Loved by LeeAndra

I love how the artist used the cut-out mat in this next lovely layout. Her clusters are spot-on, I love the vellum envelope. Great layers of elements and paper… pretty page!

Peppermint Bark by cla5694

While technically a holiday page, the fun colors in my last pick are so non-traditional I figured I could sneak it in! I love the background paper, and how she incorporated the collage frame. I love those stamped trees and the tiny arrow! (Minty) cool page!

They may not be full of mistletoe and holly, but these pages are definitely stand-outs. And the artists deserve a shout-out, so stop by their galleries and leave them a little holiday cheer! Merry Christmas y’all, I gotta go wrap up a few more office supplies.
