Finger Pointing May 2nd

Happy Monday lovely scrappers!  Cheryl here to bring you my Finger Pointing picks for today.  Can you even believe we’re into May already?  How in the world did that happen?

I had so much fun surfing the galleries and as I always say, “it’s so hard to only pick 6!”  The galleries are exploding with beauty, as they always are.  Here are my choices for today.

This is 10 by MommaTrish

I absolutely love this bold black and white background!  The patterned papers that are all used together are just fabulous – I love the variety, the dots, stripes, heart and plaids just pop and work so well together!  What a cute picture too – right down front and center of all that wonderful color.
I’m a “reflection nut” so this page caught my eye.  The palm tree scene and the angle is REALLY captured in these mirrored sunglasses!  The page is completed perfectly with tropical colors – just yummy!
Spring Madness by Monique
I just love the fantasy look of this page.  The black background and bold face are stunning, as are the elements on her head.  The bright red lipstick really tops off the dramatic face.   I’ve admired this style for so long, but definitely need to work on my skills.
The wonderful layers and all of the clustering of flowers really jumped out at me!  What a wonderful photo in the round frame and I love the added film strips and the great word art. The little camera charm in the corner is a sweet touch, too.
Childhood Stuff by pmjames
This is the sweetest layout!  I adore the big picture of the three girls and the blending is wonderful!  The smaller, stacked photos, in front, are the perfect addition to the big, blended background.  SO cute!
Quirky by Weaselwatchr
This layout just made me giggle – I love the sense of humor that comes through this page and how cute is that cat?  I just love cute animal pictures and the black and white cat really pops off this page!  I wonder if the cat really is quirky?  I know mine sure is.  Haha
I hope you’ve enjoyed my picks for this Monday.  If you get a minute, I know these artists would be thrilled if you’d hop over and leave them some love.  All you have to do is click on the NAME of the layout and you’ll be taken to their layout in the gallery.
Until next time, have a good week and I’ll see you soon..
Cheryl

Finger Pointing, April 30th

Hello and welcome to today’s edition of finger pointing. I’m Joanna (cutiejo1) bringing you a few standout pages from all around the digital scrapbooking world.

Spread Your Wings by AnaSantos

I fell in love with this page as soon as I saw it. The extraction is very well executed. The clustering is amazing. And the shadowing is perfectly applied.

Love by Yvonne Woodruff

So adorable! I think this idea is fun and cute. I want to scrap lift this one if only my kids would cooperate as well as Yvonne’s did 🙂

Clovers by capristar17

This page caught my eye in the gallery today. The selective coloring on the photo is awesome. That stencil is the perfect backdrop for all the varying sizes of the clovers and elements used. I also like how the clovers are stitched down and the title placement is amazing.

Berry Loved by ScrapHappy82

Isn’t this page so cute?! The half circles with the different patterned paper is just splendid. Darling photos and elements throughout make for a stunning page.

Zoe by AimeeH

Loving the angled patterned paper strips and how a few are stitched down. The photos and clusters are gorgeous.

Fun Day by JillW

I’m enamored with this mixed alpha title. The clustering is out of this world magnificent! I like the mix of patterned paper too.

I hope you find these pages inspiring and I hope you find time to browse the galleries for more. Until next time, happy scrapping!

Finger Pointing – April 29th

As I browsed the galleries today, a couple of thoughts crossed my mind… how many of us scrap in chronological order? How many of us just go with whatever our fancy takes us? How many of us are overwhelmed with photo’s and stories that we don’t know where to start? How many of us struggle with not enough photo’s? How many of us feel like we’re “behind” with our scrapping? I can bet my bottom dollar that there are many of us in each of those camps. I for one, am so far behind on my Project Life, both for last year and this year (yes, I still love that project and I have a Photobook credit for last year that expires next Sunday!) and worst of all, I’ve not kept my diary up to date and my photo’s are in what can only be described as a state of chaos. So, I’m on a wing and a prayer with it all but enough of that, let’s take a look at the pages that wowed me today!

I always love a page with a blended image and some layers on the periphery that provide interest and depth. Around Here by anke is a delightful example and those green and neutral tones are simply the best!

Now if this next page doesn’t scream Spring, I don’t know what does! Hello Spring by aziko is super charming in a cute sort of way. Love the assorted framing, the diagonal backdrop and the wonderful Spring colours that make this page so easy on the eye!

When the Sun Comes Out by keepscrappin packs a punch with all its glorious layered florals and I love how the image is nestled in amongst it all. An interesting page with its unusual backdrop and colour combo… love it!

For me, whimsy is one of the hardest page styles for me to create but janik has done a perfect job with her page entitled Family of Friends. The mix of florals and little creatures compliment the sweet deckle-edged photo and the textured, watercolour backdrop provides the most lovely setting. Just gorgeous!

Pretty minimalistic in style, Breathing Dreams by LDArtist has a certain mystery about it. A pretty little cluster anchors the image nicely and the landscape format makes me question my own stubbornness in continually creating square layouts… would a change in format shake up my scrapping style that I’ve been longing to do for a while? Food for thought, for sure but in the meantime, I love the intrigue that this layout provides. Amazing page!

Ah, those who create art journals and art journal pages, I salute you! A terrific mix of elements on Hopeful by tanteva capture my attention, make me linger as I take in all the detail and make me want to turn the page for the next instalment! Fabulous!

I hope you’ve enjoyed the standouts I’ve shared with you today and that you are inspired to document some memories or stories of your own. When you get a chance, please click on the links above and leave a comment or two for the artists, I know they will appreciate it. Till next time, take care and happy scrapping!

Finger Pointing ~ April 28, 2022

Hello all! Can you believe that the year 2022 is nearly half over? Time is flying by at breakneck speed, isn’t it? For us here in the desert, things are heating up and Summer temps will be here by the end of May, so I’m preparing myself for the onslaught of Summer. I’m not a lover of the heat, so I won’t be going out as much. Fall and Spring are my favorite months!

Since I’m going to be in hiding soon, I thought my theme of the day would be travel, or destinations. I found so many that it was hard to narrow them down, but here are 6 from different galleries across digi-land. As always, please take some time to give these artists some lovin’ on their pages. They work so hard and it means so much to be noticed!!!

TrishD Some Kind of Wonderful

I was drawn to this page because of the bright contrast of the white building and I had to click to find out more about this building. I didn’t find out about the building, but I was treated to a wonderfully blended page. I like how she made the edges of the photo be as if it were gesso paint. Her title work is beautiful, and the text stamp is perfect for the page.

*gina* Enjoy Every Moment of Your Life

This page by Gina just screams life!! The joy in the pictures, and the beautiful photo treatment makes my heart glad! Her little splashes of paint, the very tasteful elements, and the star of the show, the photos, make this a fantastic page!

Oldenmeade Impressions of Cyprus

What a fantastic way to remember the trip to Cyprus. The sepia and golden colors are perfect for the main photo of the ship, and to blend it into a paint splotch is wonderfully creative. I love the font choice of “Cyprus” and the artfully chosen few photos to tell a story of ancient times. The autumn leaves are a perfect touch – and yes, I spotted that adorable butterfly!

OKate Photography 1

This page is deceptively simple. It may be just one photo, but the angle in which it was taken just draws one into the story. The treatment of high contrast makes it warm and inviting, and the text ghosted around the page is perfect to bring texture into the page. I love the ghosted photo frame as well!

Stormchaser Mesa Arch

What a beautifully scrapped page about our world! The Mesa Arch is a beautiful place and The photo angle was absolutely PERFECT! They captured the scenery in the opening under the arch. The flowers are wonderfully shadowed, and the photos are just enough to show the story. I love the sweet little blue butterfly that ties in the flowers so beautifully! On thing I noticed that maybe others won’t is the rickety ladder. I climbed one of those in Mesa Verde National Park, and I wonder if they had a spot where they climbed one too.

LynnG Route 66

Lynn chose the perfect colored background to showcase these fabulous photos of the famous Route 66! The photos are really fun, and they show the joy of vacation stops! I really like that she left the photos to tell the story, and has just enough elements to complement the photos. I like also how she made the Route 66 photo in the middle look like a stamp!

Well, looks like I’m through living vicariously through all of these amazing layouts! I hope you enjoyed the little trip around the world with me too!

Until next time,

Finger Pointing – April 27th

Good evening, friends!  Heidi Nicole here on a beautiful evening, just browsing the galleries.  It’s unbelievable the talent and inspiration in our community, and I feel so blessed to be part of it!

Here we go!

life is beautiful by Ferdy

There are so many beautiful elements to this page.  I love the angled papers that split the page.  The choice of the bright colors and the neutrals work perfectly together.  Her shadowing is so realistic, and her strategically placed elements give texture and depth to the project.  My favorite part is that amazing big title… It’s subtle, yet perfect!

Sail Away by EllenT

Wow, this page is a work of art!  The watercolor photo background is absolutely lovely.  It makes me want to find a tutorial and try it!  Such an inspiration… the cute little sail boats are the perfect accent to the photos.  The title pulls it all together, and makes the project complete!

April Vibes by dotcomkari

I am loving the stacked, realistic vibe to this page.  It’s so fun!  The shadowing on the layers is impeccable.  This is a page that evokes a carefree, fun feel/emotion and I’m loving that!  The textured background adds the perfect texture, and the fun ‘Hello’ element is the icing on the cake.  Just a pretty awesome layout!

Time Flies by sucali

This gem is simple and absolutely stunning.  I love the split paper in the background, and most of all that beautiful photo.  Splitting the photo is such a fun way to add interest… and the stitching compliments the entire page.  The tiny little elements are perfectly placed… and that sentiment is so heart warming.  All in all, a lovely page that makes my heart warm!

simple things by alinalove

This is one of those pages that makes you just stare…  I’m trying to take in all the details and each one is perfectly placed and shadowed!  I  L O V E  the blended photo… it’s just such a sweet page that tells a sweet story!  Lovely!

Growing Up by Pachimac

These photos!!  I love the whole vibe going on here… It’s sweet and colorful and lovely.  I adore the little elements tucked behind the photo strip.  The sentiment here is absolutely perfect!

I know you’re inspired and ready to create… but I invite you to click on these gems and leave a little love!

Have a great week, friends!

Blessings,

Heidi Nicole

Gallery Standouts April 26th

Good afternoon everyone! Kari here,. I can not believe that we are almost done with April already! This year is going by quicker than I can blink. My son turns 16 in a few days and we are preparing for his birthday. It has been kinda a busy week. On top of that I found out I may be a grandma later this year! And I have been going to Physical Therapy and OT for my hand injury I received in Oct at work. (I was given a mighty electric shock!),

I hope you all are keeping busy and staying happy.

It is still very much winter here in Wisconsin. We get a few tastes of spring here and there, but mother nature always reminds us that we live in the Midwest and winter can last 6 months or more! *L* But I am impatiently waiting the spring flowers and warm weather to appear.

This first layout reminds me that spring is coming sooner or later. I love the use of the flower cluster on one side of the page and the soft pastels. I am also a huge fan of starburst papers. They just seem to draw in the eye!

Grow and Bloom by pjm117

This second layout I found in the Lilypad gallery and it just made me happy. Rainbows are all the craze now days and I love the double rainbow elements and the stacking of the rainbow background as well.

Hi by MishSpar

For the next layout I made my way over to the Sweet Shoppe, where I found this beauty.

One Year by Jaye

I am in love with the design here, the colors and the crown! Such a well done layout design,

My last and final layout for today is that of

Friends Forever by Bright Eyes

I found this stunner at Pickle Berry Pop. If you know me, you know I am a huge dog lover. The cute poochie on this page drew me right  in! I believe everyone needs a good fur-friend!

That is all for today folks! I hope these layouts gave you a little bit of scrap inspriation. Until next time, scrap happy and stay safe!

Finger Pointing- April 25, 2022

Hello all! It’s Addie (agoymerac) here with today’s shout outs! It is always such a pleasure to look through the galleries–so many amazing layouts out there!!

The first page that caught my eye was “Lovely Together” by tracermajig. I am always in awe of her layering skills, and this is such a clever, gorgeous design!

Next, “Visual Aids” by CathQuillScrap is filled with goodness….I love how she did the “blurry” and “clearer.”

Next, “Mapped” by Cherylndesigns is part of an amazing two page spread that will knock your socks off! The colors, the design, the photos…..are perfection!

Next, “Grey Fantail” is so incredibly beautiful! Her extraction of the darling bird makes it look like it’s perched along those flowers.

Next, “Smugglers Cove” by Lauriezyskind has such a great title and tiny details! The photos make me miss a good beach walk!

And finally, “bucolic” by zlemon was another gorgeous bird layout that I couldn’t pass up! I love how the photo takes center stage, but the ephemera layered in the corner makes everything pop! So lovely!

Thanks so much for reading. Please pop into the galleries and give my shout outs some love! Have a wonderful day. -Addie
