Finger Pointing – January 29th, 2024

Happy Monday!

I am starting the week off with an eclectic blend of digital artistry from the sad and melancholy to the fun and cute.  In between we are reminded to hit the pause button and enjoy life’s moments, no matter the season or location – a late summer day on the coast or a winter’s day up in the mountains.

1. Beautiful People by Jayne

First up are sad, melancholy, broken but beautiful people by Jayne. I find I like quad designs that radiate from the center.  Each quarter is a little mini work of art and could stand on its own.  Together, they paint a beautiful picture.

2. This Winters Love by Anja_77

This past weekend I took a pause from digital creations.  I opened up my art journals and created organically.  Hitting the pause button, stepping away for a few days allows my batteries to recharge.  I come back refreshed and full ideas.  Creativity flows.  I picked this page today because someone out there might need permission (from themselves) to hit the pause button.  This is my gentle encouragement to do so.  Allow yourself time to recharge and refresh.

3. Day 12 by Tedasgram

The bokeh pulled me in.  It’s so magical!  And so is this layout. That photo belongs in Stampington’s Bella Grace magazine.  The lavender cluster and grungy painterly background are as equally magical and complement the photo beautifully.

4. Sun, Sand, Surf, Santa Lucea Beach, FL by Shannon

This split page design created with the “sun and surf” text is simply marvelous! And gosh, I just spent the last five minutes gazing off into the photo’s horizon and wishing I were closer to a costal beach.

5. Winter Wonder by Conniemiles

I am in awe of the color palette here.  The blues are so icy cold, but the red flowers and word art add a touch of warmth and help lead the eyes around the layout.

6. Snap Chat Fun by Robinsismai

These photos were way too cute to pass up in the gallery.  I find myself grinning from ear to ear.  And I must say, I love getting lost in all the details of the cluster…the bits of dried foliage and leafy vines that lead up to the adorable bird houses are full of whimsy of depth and add such character to the layout.  Not that those photos need any more character – lol!

Till next time!

Have a lovely, magical, creative week!

Finger Pointing – January 22nd

Happy Monday and Evening from my part of the world.  Hope everyone has had a fabulous start to the New Year.  We moved over the holidays and now I’m slowly catching up with other aspects of my life.  Tonight it was so therapeutic to see so much creativity just overflowing in the galleries.  AND I have a few layouts that I definitely want to share with you!

Snow Lovers by nibylandia-11

I love the muted water color effect of the background paper and all the elements.  The scene created is muted and soft and allows the vibrancy of the photo to just pop!

When Night Comes by Cath VP

I am always a huge fan of a dark bold background and this black background just makes this layout pop.  The use of the back and white photo with a slight sepia tone is a perfect complement to the  secret  world  created  on  the  side  of  the  keyhole.

All I Need by EHstudios

This little girl definitely steals the show.  Love the use of the 3 different photos, but I particularly love the contrast of the blended photos with the one photo that just pops of the background.

MOC12-18 Wonderful You by SanVHM

Love this clean and simple layout with the monochromatic theme and the pink is the perfect accent color.  Love the texture in the background as well, it adds that subtle depth to the entire layout.

Together by Cinderella

Love the black and white photos with all the color being from the background/paints/accents.  But can we say “WOW!”  Look at how these pieces of of the photo are arranged and layered to create this amazing collaged look.

Winter Fun by Krista Lund

Pocket Pages are not my strong suite.  I absolutely love Krista’s pocket pages and this one here is perfection.  The kit matches the outfit of her daughter so perfectly and all these winter clusters are fabulous.

Hope you enjoyed my picks for the night.  If you get a chance, swing by the gallery and leave these amazing artists some love!

Until Next Time-

Finger Pointing – Jan 20th

Happy Saturday everyone!

I hope you are having a great weekend? I am having a great one, fun brunch this morning and now NFL playoffs and some scrapping time.

The galleries are full of gorgeousness this weekend.

immaculeah – Free Spirit

This is so beautiful. I love the nature feel to the page, really suits the photo. The stacked papers, just peeking at the bottom are a really nice touch. And I just love her big smile in the photo.

Roxana – Snow & Mulled Wine

This is incredible!! Roxana’s amazing shadows just bring the whole page alive. And the photo is amazing and perfect nestled in amongst that wonderful layered cluster. I love the scattered word strips giving you a sense of the moment captured in the photo.

Scrap-therapy – Cold Winter Days

I am a big fan of Emily’s pages. And this one is gorgeous. I love the big bright clusters that make winter and the cold feel a bit brighter and warmer. I really love the mixed alphas/words for the title, I am a sucker for these kinds of titles. The dark background with sprinkles of paint, make all the bright clusters pop even more.

estir-bune – For Like Ever

The vertical composition caught my eye here along with all that amazing paint. I love the happiness in the photo and this page. The arrow pointing at the large title is a great detail and I like the unusual photo stack.

Im44west – Sky Above

As a lover of the ocean and the peace it delivers I fell in love with this page. The cracked background is perfect and I just love the cluster under the photos. The whole thing just evokes peace.

Wombat146 – Every Woman

I know that Ona is a physical art journaler too and oh man can you see it here. The amazing background and the cluster, just feel like a physical art journal page. I feel like I could reach out and touch the butterfly. Her shadows are perfection.

I hope you will go and show these talented scrappers some love. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, hopefully you will get some scrapping time too.

Finger Pointing – January 18th

Hello, lovely scrappers.  Cheryl here to bring you today’s Finger Pointing picks.  Can you even believe we’re in the middle of January of 2024?  Time goes by so quickly but as scrappers, we’re blessed to be able to capture many, many moments in time, aren’t we?  What a wonderful legacy we can leave to our loved ones as well as enjoying the moments ourselves.  I know you’re like me and also enjoy those moments over and over in the pages we create.  Speaking of creating, I know you all want to see the picks I have for you today.

Sweetest Little Cook by EvelynD is my first pick for today.  How bright, cheerful and colorful is this layout?  I was so taken by the red and white checkered paper, the banner, of pictures and all of the cute, artsy bits surrounding the big picture of the “little cook”.

My next pick is Finish The Sentence by Kim.  These candid shots are just priceless.  Candids are probably my favorite shots, and it’s amazing how many pictures are on this wonderful page.  What great memories are captured on this layout, and this will definitely be cherished for years to come.

Next up is Sunflowers by Aussiegirl.  Who doesn’t need some sunflowers right now, especially if you’re living in a frigid zone?  The photographs are beautiful and so are all of the sunflower elements and the coordinating strips of paper.

Next up is Limitless by scrappy donna.  I just love this sweet black and white photograph, surrounded by the perfect elements. The background paper, word art and artsy bits make this layout a winner!

Next is Winter Wonders by sterkeurs.  Oh, that gorgeous sunset, the ski lift that’s silhouetted, and the small photograph in the foreground – wow!  The title, word art and simple elements tie this page into the perfect package!

My last pick for today is Engaged by moenmc.  What a special moment is captured here and what a beautiful setting.  I love how the pictures are placed inside the circle and the flower elements set everything off so perfectly.

That will do it for me, and I hope you’ve enjoyed my picks the today.  If you’d like to see more, click on the title of each page and you’ll be taken directly to that page.

Keep on scrapping and capturing those memories.

Finger Pointing – January 17th!

Happy New Year – Happy 2024!

I hope this year fills you with creativity and artistic success!!  Speaking of which, let me share some!

1. Queen by Lencikvredniy

What an incredibly beautiful layout!  The “stamped” background is soft and pretty and the photo provides such wonderful contrast.

2. LAD-8-Middle-Head-Beach by Mary-Lynne

The large photo format of this layout is such a delight!  What a lovely couple and view!

3. 2024-01-16-Highlights by Mika

I am such a fan of Year in Review layouts!  What caught my attention here was the journaling on the frames and use of journal strips. Bravo!  Marvelous YIR layout!

4. Frozen in Time by Ange

I almost did not pick this layout because my world currently looks like this….and I’m so over COLD!  Lol!!!  I could not pass up this lovely layout, however.  The blending is out of this world!

5. Capture the Magic by Tineke

This is one of my favorite styles – single photo with a large, full of depth cluster.  There is so much to love here – from the arty background all the way to the pink hued flower on top and the paper piece and lace in between.

6. Winter Stories by Kakleidesigns

The scale of the clusters with all the white space in between caught my attention.  What exquisite design!

Till next time,

Happy Scrapping!
